πŸŽ₯ A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MENTAL HEALTH PRACTITIONER πŸ’¬πŸ’™
Hi, I’m Emma! πŸ‘‹ Join me as I take you through a typical day working as a Mental Health Practitioner.
As a Mental Health Practitioner, my role is to support patients with their emotional and psychological wellbeing. I work closely with GPs, nurses, and the wider multidisciplinary team to make sure people get the right care at the right time. Although we do not provide a counselling service, our day to day work includes:
βœ”οΈ Supporting patients experiencing anxiety, depression, and stress
βœ”οΈ Providing early intervention to prevent issues from escalating
βœ”οΈ Offering follow‑up care and wellbeing reviews
βœ”οΈ Linking people with appropriate services and community support
βœ”οΈ Helping to reduce GP workloads by managing mental health needs directly
βœ”οΈ Supporting patients to build skills to manage their mental health through the use of therapeutic interventions

Want to see what this looks like in action? Watch the video to follow a day in my role! πŸŽ¬πŸ’™

πŸ‘£ Learning Disabilities Week πŸ’™

Nuneaton & Bedworth Primary Care Network have created this video to help break down what a learning disability review can look like for patients.

By walking through each step, it shows how reviews can be clear, supportive, and centred around the individual. Our team ensure patients feel comfortable, listened to, and involved in decisions about their care.

Because everyone deserves to understand what’s happening, have their voice heard, and be part of shaping their own future πŸ’¬βœ¨

Continuing with Carers Week! πŸ’™

Today, we shine a spotlight on our Social Prescribers!

Social Prescribers look at the social factors that could be having a negative impact on your overall health & wellbeing.

They will connect you to the right local community groups and services who will provide support that will be of benefit to you in helping to improve your overall wellbeing, no matter how big or small the issues you are facing.

Social Prescribers do not only support carers! They can support with a whole variety of social factors.
