When I attended the business breakfast last week I was, naturally, asked what I do.

It's easy to assume that coaching is two people sat in a beige room talking in hushed tones, but that's not what I do. I provide creative coaching that unlocks your inner awesomeness.

1:1 COACHING
- Provides you a safe, calm space to release tension, explore emotions, and build your emotional resilience and confidence up so you can reach your goals.
* When working with children in particular I can provide baseline assessments and reviews so that you have useful support information to use at home as well as with other organisations such as school.

SCHOOLS
- From 1:1s and group workshops with children, to 1:1 support for staff, INSETs around emotional regulation, and even parent support.

WORKSHOPS
- Interactive group sessions that utilise storytelling, drama, and creative activities in order that you can develop your confidence, teambuilding, and leadership skills.

Throughout my work, conversation is key, but so are interactive activities, strategies, and collaborative ideas that draw out the best in you.

It's and today's is a reminder to affirm to yourself that you are doing OK.

The words we say to ourselves can hold much power and this is why coaching sessions focus on the positive and forward looking, and yes, sometimes affirmation work too.

Positive affirmations can help us to rewire the brain so that we can overcome negative thought patterns and boost our self-esteem. They're great for grounding and reducing stress, as well as fostering a more optimistic, motivated mindset.

So, why not give it a go?

The thunderstorm is rolling in overheard and it's got me thinking.

They're a bit like Marmite. Some people love a storm, throwing open the curtains and watching the lightning pierce the skyline. Oh, the drama!

Others feel uneasy, uncertain, unsure. There's the noise, the unpredictability, and the sudden change in atmosphere which can feel like an overwhelming pressure.

The interesting thing is that the storm itself isn't the problem. It really isn't. It's our experience of it that differs.

Emotions are like that too.

As we begin the final school term before the summer hols kick in (where did that come from?!), children (and adults) will all be experiencing this season differently. Some are excited. Some are tired. Some are looking forward to change. Some are worried about what comes next. This last term is often one of the longer ones too and it gets draining.

But remember this, just because someone else's storm doesn't feel like yours, it doesn't make either experience less real.

Sometimes the most supportive thing we can do is recognise that people don't all respond to the same situation in the same way.

Today's storm will pass, and whatever storms you're sitting with can pass too. In the meantime, a little understanding can go a long way.

Who's ready for their next appointment with me? I'd love to coach Miranda. Would be hilarious.

I promise there'll be no balloon work with me without prior warning 🤣

If you're looking for something different for a young person, Bring the Game Over could be right up your street.

Their advert popped up on my feed and it reminded me of when many years ago I sat in a conference room with them as they launched/further developed their business...

And what a business it has grown in to! Rock on BTGO! 🤙🤘

Excellent to see this information in light of recent events, especially so close to home here in Oxford.

Does anyone remember the old public service broadcasts? Should they be brought back?

Something to be aware of as a parent

As a parent, I try not to panic every time the internet throws something new at our kids… but some things stop you cold.

Lately, dangerous online groups like the “764” network have been showing up in the lives of teens, targeting them with manipulation, intimidation, self-harm pressure, and violent content. And honestly? It’s terrifying.

Here’s the thing, parents… we can’t protect our kids from everything, but we can stay informed, make sure we understand what our kids are up against, and do everything in our power to keep them safe.

The reality of this extremist group’s activity is dark and alarming, and it’s happening in the very online spaces our teens visit every day. But before panic sets in, take a breath. We’ll walk you through what this group is, why teens are vulnerable, and most importantly, what you can do to keep your child safe.
