Do you like herbal tea?

There’s something about an autumn cup of herbal tea that feels like a small anchor in the day.
A moment to pause.
A moment to breathe.
A moment to come back to yourself.

Do you have a favourite herbal tea flavour?
Something you naturally reach for as the weather cools?

Over the last ten months we’ve been hydrating with Mother Cuppa — it’s simply become part of our daily rhythm. A gentle ritual that reminds us to slow down and look after ourselves in small, steady ways.

These tiny choices matter.
They’re often the beginning of something becoming more — more ease, more steadiness, more connection to the body.

Our October supper club is shaped around this same feeling of gentle noticing and the small practices that support us through the season.

October always feels like a turning‑inwards month. The light shifts, the evenings draw in and everything seems to ask for a slower pace.

Our next supper club is shaped around that feeling — warm food, steady conversation and a gentle introduction to somatic work with Emma Em Flint Somatics . Nothing performative, nothing that puts anyone on the spot. Just a calm space to explore how the body holds our everyday experiences.

And because it’s that time of year, we have been thinking about autumn vegetables too.

What are your favourite autumn veg?

Are you dreaming about squash, leeks, kale and all those earthy flavours that make October feel like October?

If you’re looking for something grounding this autumn, you’re welcome to join us.

A Somatic and mindful micro moment.

There’s something about a mid‑October cup of tea that naturally slows the day down.
A small pause.
A moment to breathe before everything carries on.

If you’re curious about weaving tiny somatic practices into everyday life, you don’t need anything complicated.

The tea can be the mindfulness — the warm cup, the quiet moment.

And while the kettle boils, why not try a small shoulder shrug?
Just a gentle lift and release.

These tiny pauses and softenings are often the beginning of something becoming more — a bit more ease, a bit more space, a bit more connection to yourself.

Our October supper club is shaped around this same feeling of gentle noticing and slowing down.

It would be lovely to see you there!

Do you know what Somatic Work is?

A few years back I heard the word somatic and honestly thought it sounded like something mechanical. Something to do with engines or science labs. I couldn’t have been more wrong.

What I’ve learned since is that somatic work is simply about the body — how it quietly carries our experiences, our stress, our habits, our stories. Not in a dramatic way, just in the everyday things we all recognise: tight shoulders, bracing without meaning to, the breath sitting high in the chest.

It’s not quite mindfulness, though it is closely connected. Mindfulness asks us to notice our thoughts and breath. Somatic work asks us to notice what the body is saying underneath all of that. The textures, the weight, the tension, the ease.

This is why we’ve invited Emma Flint from Em Flint Somatics to our October supper club. Emma isn’t coming to “perform” or run a class — she’s simply joining us at the table, part of the evening, part of the conversation.

And after dessert, when everyone is relaxed and settled, she’ll lead us into some somatic work in her own gentle way. Nothing pressured, nothing performative, just a calm moment to explore what the body might be holding.

A lovely way to end an autumn evening.

Oh and yes maybe a plumb cake for pudding?
