Autistic Pride Day (18th June)

Today is Autistic Pride Day—a day to celebrate neurodiversity and recognise the unique strengths, perspectives, and infinite potential of autistic individuals.

Living in a world that isn't always built for neurodivergent minds can sometimes feel isolating, exhausting, or lead to intense burnout from constantly trying to fit into neurotypical boxes.

In my practice, I am committed to providing neurodiversity-affirming support. Therapy should be a space where you never have to mask, where your boundaries are respected, and where we work together in a way that truly fits your brain.

Men’s Health Week (15th–21st June)

With Men’s Health Week concluding on Father’s Day, it’s a vital time to talk about the side of health that often goes unspoken: mental well-being.

Societal expectations often pressure men to "be strong," "bottle it up," or carry financial and family pressures silently. But true strength isn't about carrying a heavy burden until you break; it’s about having the courage to say, "Actually, I need a bit of support right now."

Whether you are a dad navigating the unique stresses of fatherhood, or simply a man feeling overwhelmed by life, work, or anxiety—talking helps.

🌱 Let’s change the narrative. Therapy isn't about being fixed; it's about giving yourself the tools to thrive. If you are ready to speak to someone in a completely confidential, no-bullsh*t space, send me a message or click the link below to book a short, informal introductory call.

Loneliness Awareness Week (15th–21st June)

The Crowded Room Feeling

👥 You can be surrounded by people and still feel entirely alone.

This Loneliness Awareness Week, it's important to remember that loneliness isn't just about physical isolation. It’s often about a lack of connection.

When we struggle with anxiety or low mood, we tend to pull away from the world, hiding how we truly feel. We put on a brave face, but internally, we feel disconnected from the people around us.

Counselling helps bridge that gap. By exploring what is keeping you feeling guarded or isolated, we can work on rebuilding confidence, easing social anxiety, and helping you feel safely connected again.

🌱 Your feelings are valid, and you don't have to carry them in silence. If you're ready to talk, I'm here to listen.

Are you a woman caught in the middle? 🥪

Statistically, women make up the vast majority of the "Sandwich Generation"—the generation of women simultaneously squeezing their lives to care for aging parents or elderly relatives, while still actively supporting growing children, managing a household, and showing up for their partners.

But it’s not just the physical tasks. It’s the invisible load. The untold, unpaid mental burden of being the permanent Chief Executive Officer of the entire household.

Think about your daily mental checklist. You aren’t just a partner or a mother; you are the:

📅 Personal Assistant: Managing everyone’s schedules and social calendars.

🚗 Chauffeur: Running back and forth to clubs, schools, and activities.

🩺 Medical Coordinator: Remembering, booking, and attending GP, hospital, and dental appointments for the whole family.

🐾 Pet Carer: Feeding, grooming, and organizing vet care.

✈️ Holiday Planner: Researching, budgeting, and booking family breaks (which often just feel like parenting in a different location!).

🧹 Logistics Manager: Tracking the grocery list, school uniforms, household maintenance, and endless life admin.

It is exhausting. It leads to a deep, systemic burnout where you constantly feel like you are giving 100% to everyone else, leaving absolutely 0% for yourself. You become a ghost in your own life, running on empty, waiting for the wheels to fall off.

Please hear this: You cannot pour from an empty cup, and you were never meant to carry the weight of the entire world on your shoulders alone.

Therapy isn't just another appointment to add to your hectic calendar. It is the one hour in your week where you don't have to manage anyone else. It’s a safe, confidential space where you get to unpack the heavy load, set healthier boundaries, rediscover your own identity, and finally breathe.

🌿 You deserve care, too. If you are ready to put yourself back on the priority list and get some support for your mental well-being, I am welcoming new clients.

Send me a private message today, or click the link below to book a free, confidential 20-minute introductory chat. Let’s figure out how to give you your life back.

Carers Week (8th–14th June)

It’s Carers Week. To every person who spends their days caring for a family member, partner, or friend—thank you.

Caring for someone else is a beautiful act of love, but it can also be physically, mentally, and emotionally draining. It is incredibly common for carers to experience "compassion fatigue" or feel like they’ve lost a bit of themselves along the way because their own needs always come last.

You cannot pour from an empty cup. You deserve care, too.

☕ A space just for you: Therapy can be a dedicated hour in your week where your needs, your feelings, and your well-being are the sole focus. If you're ready to put yourself back on the priority list, let’s connect. Send a message to explore how we can work together.

Men's Health Week

👨‍⚕️ "I should be able to handle this myself."

For Men’s Health Week, let’s talk about that phrase. Somewhere along the line, a lot of men were taught that strength means carrying stress, anxiety, or burnout completely alone.

But bottling things up doesn't make them disappear—it just strains your health, your sleep, and your relationships.

Therapy isn't about "fixing" a weakness; it's strategy. It’s an objective, confidential space to figure out what's draining your battery and how to rebuild your resilience. No judgment, just practical support.

To the men reading this (or anyone worried about a partner, brother, or friend) seeking support is a sign of taking control. My door is always open.

Back to Reality

🌿 Coming back from a break can sometimes feel like a bump to the system.

Whether it’s a long holiday or just a bank holiday weekend, stepping back into daily routines can trigger a sudden wave of overwhelm. Your inbox is full, the chores are waiting, and that peaceful holiday feeling evaporates in minutes.

If you're feeling the "post-holiday slump" or general routine fatigue this week, give yourself some grace. You don't have to operate at 100% capacity the second you step back.

🛋️ If the transition is feeling a bit heavy and you need a space to reset, my booking calendar is open for June. Let's take it one step at a time 🌿 Coming back from a break can sometimes feel like a bump to the system.

The Power of the Blend

🧠 Talking supports the conscious mind. Hypnotherapy supports the subconscious.

When you come to see me, we aren't limited to just one approach. Traditional counselling is incredible for untangling thoughts, understanding your "why," and feeling deeply heard.

But sometimes, you know why you feel anxious or stuck, yet your body and habits won't get the memo. That’s where hypnotherapy comes in. It gently bypasses the analytical mind to help re-pattern the deep-seated survival responses, habits, and self-limiting beliefs held in the subconscious.

Together, they create a complete, holistic approach to healing. You get the space to be heard, and the tools to change.

Child Safety Week (1st–7th June)

This week is Child Safety Week. While we often think of physical safety, emotional safety is just as vital for a child's development.

As parents, caregivers, or educators, protecting the children in our lives is our highest priority—but it can also bring a lot of anxiety, worry, and pressure. Sometimes, the stress of wanting to get everything "right" can leave us feeling overwhelmed and exhausted.

If you are feeling the weight of parental burnout or anxiety, please remember that looking after your own mental health is a crucial part of keeping your family safe and thriving.

🌿 You don't have to carry the worry alone. If you need a supportive space to breathe and untangle your thoughts, I am welcoming new clients. Message me today or use the link below to view my availability.
