🙏MEDITATION THOUGHTS🙏
Meditation is something that takes time and practice. I've learned that you can't truly quieten your mind if your body is holding tension, and equally, you can't fully relax your body if your mind is racing.
One quote that has always resonated with me is: "The body benefits from movement, and the mind benefits from stillness."
That's why I always start with physical movement first in my own personal practice. Whether it's breathwork, which is my personal favourite, rhythmic rocking, gentle tapping, or simply walking in nature, movement creates a bridge between where I am and where I want to be. It gives my busy mind something simple to focus on and allows my body to release the stress and tension it has been carrying.
I've found that when I start with movement, I'm not forcing myself to be calm. Instead, I'm teaching both my body and mind how to slow down naturally. The breath becomes steadier, the nervous system begins to settle, and the constant mental chatter starts to soften. From there, stillness doesn't feel like a struggle it feels like a natural next step.
For me, meditation isn't about instantly clearing my mind or achieving some perfect state of peace. It's about creating the conditions where calm can emerge on its own. Every breath, every step, every gentle movement is an invitation for my body to feel safe and for my mind to let go. Over time, those small moments of slowing down become a practice, and that practice becomes a way of being.
Over time it becomes like a switch you can turn to and rely on. It has supported me through difficult times, nervous moments, medical procedures, menopause symptoms, migraines, and so much more. The mind is a powerful resource if you can learn how to use it to your benefit.
Hugs as always
