I share this because it’s a relief to me that the concerns I have are mirrored by current professional assessment of the force.
I absolutely need resolution in regards to my personal situation, that will only happen through senior leadership oversight.
All victims deserve safety, investigation and a force who take accountability for errors in judgment and practice.
I also just commented on this post and now when I check back it’s not there for me and the comments have been limited.
Who knows what’s going on at this point..
I just want my complaints answered from 2021, 2024 and 2025..
Not too much to ask.
LATEST | Chief Constable outlines plans to drive further improvement following latest inspection
We have welcomed the latest HMICFRS PEEL report following an inspection of the Force earlier in January this year.
The report recognises the clear progress we have made in call handling, deterring crime and antisocial behaviour, our prevention work, the management of s*x and dangerous offenders and financial management.
While the Inspectorate recognises that the Force is moving firmly away from the period in which it was in ‘enhanced monitoring ‘, the report identifies two areas of concern: investigating crime and safeguarding vulnerable people, specifically the inconsistent quality in domestic abuse risk assessments (a report completed by officers after attending a domestic abuse incident).
It also identifies that we still need to improve how effectively we record crime and monitor preventative orders.
Comprehensive plans to improve these areas of concern have been submitted and we are working at pace to deliver recommendations from the report over the summer.
Inspectors will return later this year to reinspect the areas of concern and review progress.
Chief Constable James Vaughan said: “Keeping people safe from harm and providing the best quality service to the public remain at the heart of everything we do.
“HMICFRS play an important role in holding police forces to account and provide independent scrutiny on behalf of the public. I welcome the findings from the latest report.
“Whilst we have delivered sustained improvements since 2022 and the Force has now been fully removed from enhanced monitoring, there remains more to do to improve outcomes for victims and ensure consistent safeguarding standards.
“Although public trust and confidence place us in the top ten nationally due to our firm commitment to visible neighbourhood policing, we must go further and do better.”
“I have agreed with the Commissioner to stay in post for as long as she requires the stability provided by my leadership and I am confident that, with the dedication of our people, we will continue to improve our service.”
