We had a fantastic day yesterday with the veterans at the Gordon Messenger Centre, Lympstone, where we were joined by our friend, top local chef Richard Hunt. We made a delicious afternoon tea including homemade scones and strawberry jam. 🥪🍓 😋

Thanks as always to the Veterans' Foundation for their continued support of our Bake and Banter project.

We can't wait to get those sardines on the barbecue this Saturday 20th from 12-2pm. Come and say hello and enjoy the Gansey Gathering Sardine Festival at Commercial Wharf thanks to The Conscious Sisters 🦈🦈🦈🦈

Come rain or shine we will be marking Plymouth's fishing heritage this Saturday 20th June from 11am to 4pm.

Be part of Plymouth's first ever Gansey Gathering Sardine Festival at Commercial Wharf including a free sardine BBQ sponsored by Interfish.

Entertainment will include shanty groups The Seagals and Seaweed in the Fruit Locker, alongside marquees with hands-on coastal crafts such as crab pot making and fish skin leatherwork. There will also be storytelling and story walks for those who want to find out more about our fishing heritage.

Plus in true fisherman fashion we hope to see one hundred local people wearing Janner Ganseys on the day to celebrate Plymouth's coastal heritage and the traditional Gansey fishing jumper.

You can also discover more about our new project titled Adrift which features the UK's oldest and youngest fishermen as part of an exciting new artwork celebrating the Gansey fishing jumper.

This project is funded by Arts Council England, POP Collectives and Crowdfunder

Pop the date in your diary for this weekend and enjoy a free, fish-themed event for all the family.

Parents! Could YOU help improve the state of children's plates?

The Children’s Food Campaign is excited to announce that they will be expanding their Parent Ambassadors programme, giving more parents and carers across England the chance to help shape a healthier future for children’s food. They are keen to hear from parents with children in Years 6-11, and people from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds, whose voices are too often missing from decisions about school food, advertising and children’s health.

Applications are now open for Children's Food Campaign's Parent Ambassador programme.

We're thrilled to be part of this exciting event! Come and taste delicious sardines straight from the barbecue 😋
