The next Keeping Abreast - Plymouth Support Group is taking place Thursday - No need to book 🌸

The next Keeping Abreast Plymouth Support Group is this Thursday 11th June - details on the poster below.
If you are facing breast reconstruction after a breast cancer diagnosis or the discovery of a hereditary breast cancer gene, please come along for a cuppa and a chat.
Our friendly volunteers have already been through breast surgery and they will be very happy to talk to you about their own experiences and to show you their surgery results.
No need to book - all welcome - and you can come along on your own or bring someone with you. Hope to see you there!

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Plymouth Hospitals Charity for generously funding new "vacant" and "engaged" door signs for our breast clinic examination rooms.

These signs help to protect patient privacy and dignity by clearly indicating when rooms are in use, while also supporting the smooth and efficient running of our clinics. This improvement benefits both our patients and staff and helps create a more positive clinic experience for everyone.

Theresa, Margaret and Colette from the Plympton Litter Pickers visited yesterday for a cheque presentation of £450 to the The Primrose Breast Care Centre 🩷

A team of over 70 volunteers, they’re out and about all year round, and cover more than 10,000 steps every outing to keep the streets of Plympton and surrounding areas litter free 👣

Alongside this, they’ve been fundraising for different local causes. The donation presented yesterday was raised during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and they also chose to give donations instead of cards at Christmas.

A brilliant effort all around - thank you all so so much! 😊

Great to see those of you who came along to the recent Keeping Abreast Plymouth Support Group.
Our next Support Group will be on Thursday 30th April when we will be joined by Trainee Genetic Counsellor Millie Graham who will be happy to answer questions, and Vicky Morgan from The Attic who will be there to talk about ni**le tattooing.
As always, we'll be in The Alf Wright Lounge at Harewood House, The Ridgeway, Plympton, Devon, PL7 2AS from 7pm to 9pm and everyone is welcome - whether you're considering, facing or going through breast reconstruction after a breast cancer diagnosis or the discovery of a hereditary breast cancer gene, or supporting someone who is. No need to book - simply come along for a cuppa and a chat on the night! Hope to see you there x

Friday Fundraisers 🎉

This week we're celebrating these brilliant fundraisers, the 'Bingo Bandits', who organised a bingo event at Launceston Town Hall, raising an amazing £1000 for the Primrose Unit here at Derriford Hospital. Over 120 people attended for the fun-filled evening and a raffle.

Thank you to Natasha, Caroline, Steve and Sandra for dedicating this wonderful event to the Primrose Unit, and to everyone who attended and helped raise these vital funds. We are so grateful for your support! 🩷 The Primrose Breast Care Centre

We have an opportunity to run our first ever hospital fitting clinic session delivered by the Boost Team at Plymouth's Derriford Hospital, Devon, UK.

People who are interested in getting an NHS Boost in Plymouth you will need to call the Breast Care Team on 01752 431898 to let them know.

Let's show the NHS why offering more choice to women after breast cancer is so important!
