A few behind-the-scenes tweaks for TBPS + Plymouth classes booking page recently… and yes, I did slightly break my own system in the process😅

Everything is now back where it should be under “Plymouth Classes” → “Timetable & Booking” (please let me know if you come across any other issues - I will send you the right link and rectify wherever it’s wrong)🙈💖

June classes are filling up fast, so if you’re planning to join us I’d book sooner rather than later ✨

Looking forward to seeing you in class soon🤍

Pregnancy in a heatwave is a full-body experience 🫠☀️ So here are 5 very important, highly scientific survival tips… Which is your favourite?😝

When your body is already working hard growing a baby, heat can push your nervous system into overwhelm pretty quickly.

Which is exactly why I’ve just uploaded a new guided relaxation on YouTube — using the water element to help you cool, soften and regulate from the inside out 💛

If your body has been feeling hot, tired or overstimulated… this one is for you.

🎧 Head to our YouTube channel (link in bio✨)

And if you’re wanting slower movement + deeper rest across your pregnancy, there are also 18 guided audio relaxations in The Birth Prep Studio. They are designed for each stage of pregnancy and birth so you can move through whenever you need them🙏✨

9 babies born this week🥹✨

Some births were fast, some were long, some stayed exactly on “plan”, some took a completely different turn.

But the thing that remained the same for all of these women?

“I felt calm.”
“I felt in control.”
“I trusted myself.”
“I knew what was happening.”
“I wasn’t scared.”

THAT is the work.

Birth confidence is not pretending everything will go perfectly. Disclaimer - it usually doesn’t😂 But building the kind of trust, understanding and nervous system safety that allows you to stay grounded even when birth asks you to pivot is the key.

These women didn’t just hope to feel prepared.
They consciously prepared… They learned birth physiology, they understood their options, practiced regulation and connected to their bodies/babies.
They stopped outsourcing all of their power and turned their energy INWARD✨✨

And that changes EVERYTHING👏🏼

No matter how birth unfolds, feeling safe in yourself matters.

So proud of every single woman inside TBPS and our Plymouth community this week🤍

If you want grounded birth education, biomechanics, pregnancy yoga + nervous system support all in one place, come join us inside The Birth Prep Studio✨

With the heat this week we’ll be slowing things right down, moving gently and keeping the fan on 😅✨

A space to stretch, breathe, regulate your nervous system and connect with yourself (and your little one) amongst the chaos of life/motherhood/pregnancy.

Most of what feels overwhelming in pregnancy isn’t actually pregnancy being “too much”. It’s just that not enough people talk openly about the reality.

So instead you’re left guessing. Googling. Asking ChatGPT. Second-guessing your body and trying to piece it all together from a hundred different opinions.

In reality, your body is doing exactly what it’s designed to do.

And this is one of the reasons I created The Birth Prep Studio — to bring together movement, birth education and nervous system support in one place, so you’re not trying to figure it all out alone.

If you’re pregnant right now and thinking “I wish someone had told me this earlier”… that’s exactly why it exists.

She was in labour… at Pregnancy Yoga 😭✨

And it was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever witnessed.

She wasn’t panicked.
She wasn’t fighting her body.
She was breathing.
Moving.
Softening.
Trusting the process.

Not because birth is always easy. But because she had practiced.

This is exactly why I created The Birth Prep Studio.

Not to teach women how to “perform” birth perfectly…
But to help them understand what’s happening inside their body so they can meet labour with more confidence, awareness and trust.

Because birth preparation is not just information.
It’s repetition.
It’s nervous system work.
It’s learning how to stay connected to yourself when that intensity rises.

Watching her move through contractions with so much strength and softness at the same time honestly made me emotional🥹

This work matters.

✨TBPS doors open tomorrow ✨

If you want to prepare for birth in a way that actually helps you feel calm, capable and connected to your body — this is for you.

Keep your eyes peeled👀 And good luck to my beautiful birthing people this week as we have a few babies on their way✨✨

SURE - a vaginal examination could tell you roughly where you are right now, but it cannot tell you where your labour is going next.

You could be 4cm and birth your baby 20 minutes later… You could be 7cm and still have hours ahead.

Birth doesn’t always follow a neat, linear timeline… but hearing “you’re only ___ cm” can massively impact your mindset if you attach any meaning to that number.

For some people, having that information feels grounding and helpful. For others? It creates pressure, disappointment or the feeling that their body is “failing” because it isn’t matching someone else’s expectations of progress.

Remember :

• Vaginal examinations require your consent
• They are optional unless there is a clear medical reason being discussed
• They can increase infection risk (particularly after waters have broken)
• They should always come with a conversation about risks, benefits and alternatives

You are allowed to ask:

“What information will this give us?”
“How will this change my care?”
“Are there alternatives?”
“What happens if I decline?”

Sometimes less data means more internal trust as your body doesn’t need to perform on a clock⏰
