Blood test services in Llanelli are now at Canolfan Pentre Awel

Phlebotomy services (blood tests) for patients living in the Llanelli area have moved to Canolfan Pentre Awel, Llanelli, from today, 1 June 2026.

The service was previously provided from the Mass Vaccination Centre in Dafen, Llanelli, where it temporarily relocated to in 2024.

Canolfan Pentre Awel, which opened to the public in October 2025, offers improved accessibility, transport links, and more convenient parking for patients. The L1 and L2 local bus route connects Canolfan Pentre Awel to key locations with the bus stop just outside the main door. The route, which operates around every 90 minutes, connects Llanelli town centre, Parc Pemberton, Parc Trostre, Penyfan, Morfa, Canolfan Pentre Awel, Swiss Valley, Prince Philip Hospital and Felinfoel. The L11 route is also available at the start and end of each day if you live in Kidwelly and the surrounding areas.

🚑 Early May Bank Holiday – Stay Safe & Use 999 Wisely 🚑

As we head into the Early May bank holiday, please stay safe and use emergency services responsibly. Last year, calls to NHS 111 Wales rose by 13% over the same bank holiday period – showing just how busy our services can become.

💬 Jonathan Edwards, Assistant Director of Operations, said: “Bank holiday weekends are always extremely busy for us, placing added pressure on our resources. We all have a part to play in protecting those resources for the people who need them most.”

❗Remember: 999 is for life‑threatening emergencies only. Help us help you this weekend by:
- Using NHS 111 Wales or Albot, the NHS Wales digital assistant, for minor illnesses and injuries
- Ordering repeat prescriptions before GP surgeries close
- Drinking alcohol responsibly and planning safe transport home
- Keeping a stocked first‑aid kit for minor ailments
- Looking out for vulnerable friends, family and neighbours
- Using local pharmacies or Minor Injury Units for non‑urgent care
