Something a little close to my heart 🤍

We talk so much about pregnancy, labour and meeting your baby, but not always about what happens when birth doesn’t go the way you hoped.

Having experienced birth trauma myself, I know how much those feelings can stay with you — the questions, the “what ifs” and moments you replay 🤍

That’s why I wanted to share the lovely Irene Irene Miotto 🫶🏼

Irene is a midwife specialising in birth debriefing, creating a safe, kind space to talk through your experience, ask questions and feel heard.

You don’t have to have had a “terrible” birth for it to have affected you. If it was difficult for you, then it matters 🤍

A second tongue-tie release is something I very rarely need to do 🤍

But on those occasions where it is genuinely needed, it can make such a positive difference.

Sometimes, despite an initial release, there can still be some restriction due to the way the tissue has healed.

In these cases, we take a step back, reassess everything carefully and, where appropriate, consider whether a second release may help.

It’s never about rushing into another procedure — it’s about looking at the whole picture and making sure we’re doing what’s right for that individual baby and family. 🫶🏼

Every baby is different, and sometimes that little extra bit of support can make a big difference. ✨

🌿 A NEW NAME, BUT THE SAME CARING APPROACH 🌿

You may know me as Emily Midwife – Tongue-Tie Practitioner.

I’m excited to introduce my new name:
DORSET TONGUE-TIE 🤍

I’m Emily, a midwife and tongue-tie practitioner, providing tongue-tie assessment and treatment across Dorset, including Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and surrounding areas.

As a mum myself, I understand how difficult feeding struggles can feel. My own experience with tongue-tie has given me a real understanding of how much the right support can mean to families during those early weeks and beyond.

I provide gentle, individualised tongue-tie assessment and treatment, alongside feeding support for babies and their families.

Whether you’re breastfeeding, bottle feeding or combination feeding, you deserve to feel listened to, supported and cared for. I take a holistic approach, looking at both parent and baby and considering your individual feeding journey.
