June is Migraine and headache awareness month.
This is a topic very close to my heart as I am a chronic migraineur and have been for approx 6 years now. It’s also one of the reasons I trained as a reflexologist after finding it really beneficial for my own migraine management.
Migraine is not a headache, it is a neurological condition with a whole host of symptoms, and what I’ve come to discover is no two people suffer in the exact same way, we really are all individual.
One of my worst issues is I now have a permanent tremor and weakness. This becomes more noticeable when I’m in a bad phase and my nervous system is telling me it’s not happy! I also feel like I’m permanently on a boat, so motion issues are a big thing for me.
So if you’re a migraine or headache sufferer take this as your sign that you may find reflexology very beneficial. Now it’s not a miracle cure, it is part of your management of migraines alongside other things. And like with anything else you need to be consistent. Having one session and expecting a miracle just doesn’t happen unfortunately. As I said, I found it hugely beneficial, I went from 6 months of not being able to function, to being able to start living my life again alongside other lifestyle changes.
