Hi everyone, I thought I’d introduce myself again as I’ve had a lot of new followers recently.

Im Sarah and earlier this year I started putting together care bags for patients on my local oncology ward. These bags are designed to offer a little comfort during treatment and include practical and wellbeing items.

Since starting in January, I’ve now delivered just over 200 care bags and raised over £7,000 through sponsorship from local businesses and community support. I honestly never expected it to grow this quickly, but it’s become something I care deeply about.

This project means a lot to me, especially as it’s something I fit around full-time work, family life, and my own health challenges.
My next drop-off is currently being arranged in memory of the beautiful Ann Wise who I met early into this journey and who sadly passed away last week. Ann hassled me to set up a JustGiving page which I eventually did a few days before she passed.

If you’ve recently followed, thank you - your support means a lot whether that’s donating, sharing, or simply following along.

I’ll continue sharing updates on care bag deliveries, sponsorship support, and how the project is growing.

Thank you for being here.

You are all amazing 🤩 My next drop off is in memory of the wonderful Ann Wise who was a huge supporter of the care bag project, and we have already tipped the £1,000 mark!! My aim is to have another 40 bags ready for drop off at Inpatients next week and we’re not far off!!

If you would like to get involved, please donate on the Just Giving page below:

Morning all, in light of the very sad news received yesterday, I’ve decided to make my next Oncology drop off in memory of Ann Wise 💔 She rooted for this initiative from the very beginning, we chatted about how it could grow and reach a lot more people, in a time they needed it the most.

One way Ann wanted me to grow the project was to set up a Just Giving page, which I did the day before she passed (without knowing), so if you would like to support the next Inpatients drop off, the link to donate is below

I have just learnt this morning that the most wonderful lady I met through my care bag project sadly passed peacefully last night 💔 Ann Wise and I clicked the minute we met, within an hour she was calling me “Sa” and we were chuckling and giggling about life (we seemed to have a lot in common too!)

Ann absolutely loved my care bag project and fought until her employer sponsored a couple. She wanted everyone to have a little treat whilst going through the hardest of times themselves.

I met up again with Ann when she was taken into hospital where I handed her a care bag and she was over the moon, taking all the items out one by one and commenting on them, like it was Christmas 😊

My heart goes out to her children and family who will miss her dreadfully. Having chatted to Ann since the beginning of this year, I know she was the heart and soul of everything - Rest in peace you beautiful lady 💔

I LOVED yesterday ❤️ 40 more care bags dropped off to our Oncology Outpatients and bringing smiles to people’s faces when they need it the most.

Huge thank you to every business who got involved this time, which now brings the total to over £7,000 of community funded patient support and over 200 oncology care bags delivered 🥳

I’m increasing my target to 500 before the end of the year, so please get in touch if you would like to also get involved, what an achievement that would be ❤️

Having started this project in January, not only have I loved every second of meeting sponsors and patients but also how amazing our community is! My original idea was to approach businesses to sponsor a care bag, that in turn was given to a patient going through treatment in our Oncology Ward at QA Hospital.

So many times now I have been asked if members of our community can donate something towards the project, but don’t have a business themselves.

I have therefore set up a Just Giving page for exactly that reason. There is absolutely no pressure from me at all, but if you feel you would like to join in with my community project, then please feel free to donate whatever you can afford, using the link below ❤️

Iʼm raising money to provide care bags for oncology patients at QA Hospital. Support this JustGiving Crowdfunding Page.

Possibly the cutest sponsor I’ve had yet 🥰 Kim owns Nanny Kim’s Sewing Bee in Drayton and holds sewing lessons for all, from young to a little older, and everyone is included, no matter who you are! When I met with Kim I realised my daughter had been to a party here and made a bag (that she still uses). It’s a great place to come together and learn a new skill or improve the one you already have.

Thank you so much for sponsoring a care bag Kim. This will be included in another drop off tomorrow morning at QA Oncology Outpatients.

I’m truly humbled by everyone who has sponsored a bag, be it 1 or 40, and hope to continue as long as I possibly can. If you would like to get involved, do get in touch like the wonderful Kim did ❤️

I may have been away but the sponsorship doesn’t stop; and what an AMAZING sponsorship this one is! These wonderful ladies at Grange Junior School in Gosport have been raising money by cake sales and running the Pretty Muddy Race for Life and managed to raise enough to sponsor 21 bags!!!!!! I’m so incredibly grateful to you all and am looking forward to delivering these on Thursday with you, so you can see for yourself the impact they have ❤️
