Hands up if you have visited this perfect little sea themed gift shop on Hayling Island 🙋‍♀️ When I popped in to thank Caroline for sponsoring care bags, I stepped into a world of wonderful gifts that Caroline herself has sourced for her own customers.

Caroline has the most beautiful soul and will do anything to help you find that perfect gift for your loved one, for that special friend or even a treat for yourself.

And of course, a huge thank you for sponsoring the care bags; these will be making their way to the Oncology Department on Monday 🥰

A few weeks ago I learnt that the wonderful Ann Wise had so very sadly passed away after her brave battle with cancer, and not for the first time either! Having met Ann early into my Care Bag journey, I wanted to do something a little special in her memory, especially because she absolutely loved the idea of the care bag.

Usually I approach companies and get sponsors for up to 40 bags at a time, being the number of patients seen Outpatients in just one day, or Inpatients at one time. This month I decided to go for 95 bags all on the one day, to include the Acute Ward too!

I am super pleased to say I have only two bags left to sponsor and my target of 95 will have been reached. If you do feel led to make a donation towards these last two bags, I would be ever so grateful ☺️ Myself and a few others close to Ann are going to cause mayhem, chaos but more importantly a little sunshine on what would be a very tough day in Oncology ❤️

A sunny morning and another shout out for the amazing businesses in our community.

Steve and Denise at Harrington Autos in Drayton have kindly agreed to sponsor two care bags that will be delivered to our oncology ward at QA.

I’ve been using Harrington since moving to the area and wouldn’t go anywhere else with my car. They’re trustworthy, always explain what is happening before doing any work and are so approachable when I have a stupid car question 😂

Thank you for sponsoring these bags, it means the world to me and the recipients ❤️

The wonderful Kim at BAR AROMA has sponsored three care bags to be dropped off at QA’s Oncology Department in a couple of weeks’ time. I thought I would pop in to see Kim when she wasn’t as busy at 10am on a Friday morning, I couldn’t have been more wrong!! There wasn’t a table free, the place was buzzing and the atmosphere was electric.

Bar Aroma has everything, a good coffee and breakfast for your morning, amazing lunchtime offerings and live weekend music 🎵

If you haven’t eaten at Bar Aroma, you’re missing out - the food is outstanding!

Thank you Kim for your sponsorship, I am truly grateful, as will the recipients be ❤️

I missed this yesterday (typical me and my memory!) but wanted to add it here as many may not realise that I actually have a brain tumour myself (an acoustic neuroma). It does affect my left side as it’s sat on my left inner ear so my balance, my hearing, my memory, the feeling in the left hand side of my face and my energy level is affected daily. If I forget to message you, or seem to ignore you when you speak, I have one amazing excuse 😃

I’m just 10 bags away from the 95 bag target I set myself, in honour of Ann Wise 💔 Our community has been amazing and I’m positive we will reach this incredible target. If anyone feels they can sponsor a bag or donate a little something towards a bag, please do get involved.

I can’t wait for Drop Off day and of course will take lots of photos and feedback on how many smiles we created ☺️

I have an amazing update 🤩 This time last Saturday I learnt that the beautiful Ann Wise had passed away, peacefully with her family beside her, which shocked me to the core. I decided that my next care bag drop off would be in honour of Ann as she was so supportive of my care bag project and wanted to be involved when she got out, to help raise awareness and raise more funds.

Well Annie, you have achieved this wish as in just ONE WEEK we have raised enough funds for 83 care bags!!!!!!!

This now means my goal is 95 bags dropped off in one day which will enable me to drop off 40 for all the patients in Outpatients, all the patients in Inpatients and all the patients in the Acute Ward; and we will make 95 people smile that day and give them something different to think about for just a few minutes 🧡

If anyone would like to donate just a little something, this will go towards those next 12 bags and achieving this goal 🥰

Hi everyone, I thought I’d introduce myself again as I’ve had a lot of new followers recently.

Im Sarah and earlier this year I started putting together care bags for patients on my local oncology ward. These bags are designed to offer a little comfort during treatment and include practical and wellbeing items.

Since starting in January, I’ve now delivered just over 200 care bags and raised over £7,000 through sponsorship from local businesses and community support. I honestly never expected it to grow this quickly, but it’s become something I care deeply about.

This project means a lot to me, especially as it’s something I fit around full-time work, family life, and my own health challenges.
My next drop-off is currently being arranged in memory of the beautiful Ann Wise who I met early into this journey and who sadly passed away last week. Ann hassled me to set up a JustGiving page which I eventually did a few days before she passed.

If you’ve recently followed, thank you - your support means a lot whether that’s donating, sharing, or simply following along.

I’ll continue sharing updates on care bag deliveries, sponsorship support, and how the project is growing.

Thank you for being here.

You are all amazing 🤩 My next drop off is in memory of the wonderful Ann Wise who was a huge supporter of the care bag project, and we have already tipped the £1,000 mark!! My aim is to have another 40 bags ready for drop off at Inpatients next week and we’re not far off!!

If you would like to get involved, please donate on the Just Giving page below:

Morning all, in light of the very sad news received yesterday, I’ve decided to make my next Oncology drop off in memory of Ann Wise 💔 She rooted for this initiative from the very beginning, we chatted about how it could grow and reach a lot more people, in a time they needed it the most.

One way Ann wanted me to grow the project was to set up a Just Giving page, which I did the day before she passed (without knowing), so if you would like to support the next Inpatients drop off, the link to donate is below

RIP Ann, you will be truly missed by a lot of people 💔
