Good luck to our amazing 2026 Yorkshire Three Peak Challengers who are headed to the Yorkshire Dales to complete the famous route to raise funds for Mersey Care NHS Charity!

The challenge will really test their stamina -- at 24.5 miles in distance and around 12 hours to complete -- climbing the three peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. ⛰️⛰️⛰️

This ***dePreventionDay (10 Sept) the Zero Su***de Alliance is hosting a virtual su***de awareness training session focusing on practical skills.

The afternoon training session will look at spotting the signs that someone may be experiencing suicidal thoughts as well as how to start and hold safe, supportive conversations. It will also explore helpful language to use and what to avoid, as well as how to connect someone you're worried about to further support.

This FREE session is suitable for anyone who wants to feel more confident talking about su***de and supporting people who may be struggling.

Our amazing Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust staff are so passionate about the people and services they support 💙 Here is one of our latest examples!💯

🦊There is a unique new addition to Halton Children and Young People's Mental Health Services (CYPMHS) : 'Thorn' the Fox , who is helping to create a warm and welcoming environment for children, young people and families. And it's all thanks a fundraiser led by clinic staff!

The project was made possible thanks to funds raised by the Halton CYPMHS last December when they took part in the BTR Liverpool Santa Dash. 🎅

Staff, service users and members of the wider CYPMHS community came together for a two-day Twigtwisters creative workshop resulting in the impressive sculpture, a new mascot for the service. 🦊

Nicola Hamlin, Art Psychotherapist at Halton CYPMHS and the driving force behind the project, said:

"Feedback throughout the two days was overwhelmingly positive, with many participants describing the sessions as relaxing, mindful and enjoyable. There was a real sense of pride and achievement as the fox gradually took shape, The completed artworks aim to make the clinic feel more welcoming, creating a space that reflects the creativity and contributions of the people who use and work within the service."

Whether you're a seasoned runner or taking on a new challenge, Run Aintree offers a great day out on a flat, fast course, making it ideal for runners of all abilities.

Choose your distance:

1️⃣5K – 1 lap of the course
2️⃣10K – 2 laps of the course
3️⃣Half Marathon – 4 laps of the course

Not only will you be supporting Mersey Care NHS Charity helping us do even more for local people and communities, you'll also receive a finisher's medal, water and post-race goodies as a reward for your efforts. 👏

🌍 This , we're celebrating the incredible things that can happen when we work together to support children and young people. 💙

Through our partnership with Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust's Children and Young People's Mental Health Services (CYPMHS), we've helped create opportunities that go beyond traditional funding, ensuring young people feel valued, supported and heard.

From welcome packs for children accessing services, Secret Santa gifts and Easter treats, to permanent displays of young people's artwork, we're helping to create environments where children and families feel welcomed and connected.✨

We've also been proud to support a range of creative wellbeing initiatives, including the creation of a beautiful willow fox sculpture through staff fundraising and generous donations, as well as creative art sessions at Thorn Road Clinic as part of Culture 26, funded through a Made in Halton Aspire Grant.

Together, these projects demonstrate the power of creativity in supporting wellbeing, self-expression and connection -- as well as the passion and dedication of staff who continually go above and beyond for the children and young people they support.

Can you make a difference by taking on a like Jenny and Michael? 🙌

They took on the Inflatable Obstacle Challenge, but we have many more in our portfolio, from running and walking events to bucket-list challenges like bungee and skydives!

Your support enables the charity to do some incredible things to support the mental health and wellbeing of people accessing Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust services, including transforming outdoor spaces, funding wellbeing resources to enhance recovery and classes to teach valuable skills, improve connection and boost confidence. Recent examples include cookery sessions that educate around healthy eating and sports activities where patients can improve their fitness and wellbeing in a supportive environment.

🌱 Allotment Week 🌱

The benefits of a previous Mersey Cares volunteering day at Peasley Cross Hospital are still being felt today.

During the event, volunteers from GRAHAM, A&B Engineering St Cuthbert's Catholic High School supported the gardening team create new raised planters, increasing space to grow fruit, vegetables and flowers. A&B Engineering also supported through installing electricity to the polytunnel, which has been a game-changer for volunteers.

This investment continues to make a difference by supporting year-round growing. The powered polytunnel enables seeds to be started during the colder months, giving young plants a head start before they are moved outside and helping to extend the growing season.

Together, these improvements have helped the Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust gardening team develop a thriving allotment that provides fresh produce, supports wellbeing and creates opportunities for patients, staff and volunteers to enjoy the benefits of gardening - as well as meet socially to do what they love -- all year round 😍

Thank you to everyone who helped make this project possible. 💚
