Consistency is one of the biggest factors that determines the results of your laser hair removal. Here’s why:
1. Hair grows in cycles
Laser only works on hairs in the active growth phase (Anagen).
At any given moment, only 15–30% of your hairs are in this phase. By treating regularly (usually every 4–6 weeks for body areas or 6–8 weeks for the face), you ensure that the laser catches each hair when it enters the anagen stage.
If you skip sessions, hairs pass through this phase without being treated—leading to patchy results.
2. Each session builds on the last
Laser weakens the follicle a little more each session.
Consistent treatments mean:
More progressive follicle damage
More permanent reduction
Fewer regrowth cycles
Irregular treatments give the follicle time to recover, prolonging the hair removal process.
3. Reduces the total number of required sessions
When you follow your clinician’s treatment plan, most people complete their hair removal treatment in 6–12 sessions. * Please note this does vary.
If treatments are spaced too far apart, you may need additional sessions because you keep missing optimal growth windows.
4. Keeps hormone-driven areas under control
Areas like the face, chest, and bikini are more acutely affected by hormones.
Consistency helps keep these areas from rebounding or cycling back into thicker growth.
5. Gives noticeably better long-term results
Consistent treatment leads to:
· Thinner, finer regrowth
Slower regrowth
Larger patches of permanent removal
Longer-lasting smoothness
Inconsistent treatment can mean:
Patchy results
Faster regrowth
More total time and money spent
In short:
Laser hair removal isn’t just about the strength of the laser—it’s about timing. Staying consistent ensures the laser hits the right hairs at the right time, leading to smoother, longer-lasting results.
