Children's Piercings Summer Holidays -
I wanted to do a quick post as I have had lots of questions around children's piercings. We have decided going forward we will be offering childrens piercings to 8+ only.
Please ensure you check your schools piercing/ jewellery wearing policy to make sure the earring can stay in place for the full healing period. Replacing with plastic posts or removing during the healing phase will cause irritation or closure, so it is important to allow time for healing.
Typically, ear lobe piercings take around 4-6 months to fully heal. Initial healing period up to 6 weeks when the post can be downsized by your piercer.
Piercings heal from the outside in, so even if it appears/feels ok on the outside, inside is still healing so taking jewellery in and out for sports etc will cause irritation, swelling and redness.
We want your childs first piercing to be memorable and a happy experience, so if the policy allows and aftercare can be followed we would love to share the experience with your little one!
