A personal achievement 💛
On May 10th, I completed my first triathlon and raised an incredible £555 for
Surrounded by family, chosen family, and the best weather we could’ve asked for, it became one of the most meaningful days I’ve experienced.
I think there were a few tears back in the spectators area - and honestly, those people were the fuel that got me to the finish line.
Truthfully, preparing for this was hard. I’ve always been competitive in sport, but this felt completely different. I like to understand every step of what I’m doing, so going into something unknown brought a huge lack of confidence. Balancing training alongside long days in the gym, building a new business, managing fatigue, and remembering I have my own health battles to consider… there were moments where I questioned whether I was ready for it.
But through all of it, I was constantly reminded of the strength and resilience people living with Cystic Fibrosis have to carry every single day.
On the morning of the event, the anxiety was deafening. My mind was full of irrational thoughts and self-doubt. But the second I heard “3, 2, 1, go,” everything quietened. From that point on, the only goal was to reach the finish line - for CFers, and for myself.
And I did. A time I’m incredibly proud of.
The adrenaline afterwards was unreal. Somehow I still had energy to burn and I think it took everyone by surprise 😅 But in the weeks after, the crash hit hard - physically and emotionally - which is why this post took a little longer to share.
This experience reminded me that mental preparation is just as important as physical preparation. Even as a coach, even as someone who works in fitness every day, I still struggle. We all do.
Now it’s time to reset, find a new routine, and see what challenge comes next ✨
Thank you to every single person who donated and supported me along the way. I’m endlessly grateful 🫁
