"Opportunities to meet others who truly 'get it' are limited. The VIP Social Club fills that gap."

This month, we visited Middlesex Association for the Blind Richmond’s VIP Social Club to experience the powerful role it plays in building connection, confidence and friendship for people with a visual impairment.

Read our latest blog to learn why this club matters and the impact it has beyond the room. https://ow.ly/jY8P50YQxNw

On 23 April, OneRichmond is hosting a special fundraising dinner at Bingham Riverhouse to support charities working with people experiencing homelessness across Richmond upon Thames.

Organised by Ritu Mahandru, in memory of her late partner Adrian Dilworth, the evening will feature a three-course meal, live comedy from John Tothill, and an auction and raffle with exclusive prizes.

50% of funds raised will go directly to The Vineyard Community Centre, with the remainder supporting other local homelessness charities through OneRichmond.

As we reach the end of LGBTQ+ History Month, we’re reflecting on our visit to the Age UK Richmond upon Thames Rainbow Café and the importance of inclusive, community‑led spaces for LGBTQ+ elders.

In our latest blog, we look at the challenges LGBTQ+ people can face in later‑life care — and how collaboration with partners such as Princess Alice Hospice, Landmark Arts Centre, and eBay.co.uk is helping Age UK Richmond create safer, more welcoming support locally.

👉 Read the full story on our website.

Age UK Richmond’s Rainbow Café has become a cherished space for LGBTQ+ elders. It’s a gentle, agenda-free space to meet others with shared experiences, enjoy good conversation over coffee and build lasting friendships.

Did you know we support people from low-income households to access education beyond 18?

Our Education Catalyst grants help fund specialist training and university courses that improve employment prospects. The grants can be used towards fees, equipment, childcare, travel, and other essential study-related costs.

These non-repayable grants are available to applicants who live in our catchment area or are Richmond care leavers.
