🏍️ ISLE SLIDE IN RYDE AT SMALLBROOK STADIUM! 🚑

Last night, the Centurion Medical IOW team returned to Smallbrook Stadium in Ryde, home of the Wightlink Warriors Speedway Club, to support their latest Isle Slide In Ryde session! 🏁

For those unfamiliar, Isle Slide in Ryde is a practice session on the shale track, open to Dirt Track and Electric Bikes, giving riders the opportunity to get out on track, develop their skills and enjoy some two-wheeled action!

🔥 A FANTASTIC TURNOUT!

It was brilliant to see riders of different ages and abilities coming together for an evening of practice, progression and fun.

From experienced Speedway riders keeping their skills sharp during the off-season, to riders on other types of bikes getting the chance to experience the shale track, Isle Slide is a fantastic way to bring the biking community together!

🚑 KEEPING EVERYONE SAFE

Centurion Medical IOW is proud to provide a First Responder for these sessions, helping ensure medical support is available throughout the evening for everyone attending — from riders and visitors to staff and volunteers.

Whether it's on the Speedway track, at a sporting event or supporting the wider Island community, we're proud to play our part in keeping people safe!

Yesterday, the Centurion Medical IOW team were out supporting Vectis Riding Club at their Cross Country Event with Show Jumping. 🐎

With equestrian events combining speed, obstacles and challenging terrain, having a professional medical team on-site is an important part of keeping participants, officials and spectators supported throughout the day.

Our Paramedic-led Medical Cover provided dedicated clinical support throughout the event, with our team ready to respond should medical assistance be required.

🚑 FROM PLOUGHING FIELDS TO THE NIGHT-TIME ECONOMY! 🌾🎶

It’s been another busy few weeks for the Centurion Medical IOW team, and with the summer season showing no signs of slowing down, we’ve been continuing to deliver medical services across the Isle of Wight and the UK! 🇬🇧

From Non-Emergency Patient Transport and High Dependency Inter-Hospital Transfers, to event medical cover across a wide range of events, our teams have been out there doing what they do best — providing professional, reliable medical support wherever it’s needed.

🌾 Yesterday was certainly no exception!

One of the Centurion Medical IOW team headed across to provide Technician-led Medical Cover at the Bridgwater & District Agricultural Society Ploughing Match, supporting our colleagues at Mendip Medical, who are also proudly part of the Centurion Medical Services family.

After the fields had been ploughed, the judges had deliberated and the farmers had collected their awards, it was time for a change of scenery…

🎶 We headed down to O2 Academy Bournemouth to provide Night-Time Economy Medical Cover, supporting another busy evening and ensuring professional medical assistance was available when required.

🚴 Same Event. New Stewardship. 🚑

The Centurion Medical IOW team were proud to be supporting Mountbatten Isle of Wight for the 2026 Isle of Wight Randonnee!

After an incredible 40 years of the event, Mountbatten have taken the reins as the new custodians of this much-loved Island cycling challenge, welcoming riders for a 100km route around the Isle of Wight.

With cyclists taking on roads, climbs, descents and everything the Island has to offer, having comprehensive medical coverage across the entire route was essential.

Our deployment included:

⚕️ Control & Dispatcher
🚑 Emergency Ambulance
🚙 2 × 4x4 Rapid Response Vehicles
🩺 5 × First Responders

This combination of resources allowed our teams to provide full-route medical coverage, ensuring participants had access to professional medical assistance wherever it was required.

A huge well done to everyone who took part, and congratulations to Mountbatten Isle of Wight on successfully taking on the stewardship of such an iconic Island event.

We're proud to have played our part in keeping riders safe and supporting the team behind the 2026 Randonnee.

🏁 The Race Season May Be Over... But We'll Be Back! 🏍️🚑

The Centurion Medical IOW team were back at Smallbrook Stadium, home of the Wightlink Warriors Speedway Club, for the final meeting of this year's Island Speedway season.

What a season it's been! 🔥

From adrenaline-filled racing and incredibly skilled riders to fantastic crowds and a brilliant atmosphere, Speedway has once again shown why it's such an important part of the Island's sporting calendar.

And this year was even more special as Island Speedway celebrated 30 years of Speedway on the Isle of Wight! 🎉

What an achievement!

We've absolutely loved being trackside throughout the season, providing medical cover and watching some fantastic racing along the way.

We're incredibly proud that Centurion Medical has been awarded a three-year contract to provide medical cover for Speedway on the Island, and we can't wait to return next season!

A huge thank you to Martin Widman, along with all the committee, staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to keep Smallbrook Stadium, and Island Speedway running.

And that work doesn't stop when the racing does.

Behind the scenes, an incredible amount of time and effort goes into maintaining the site, preparing the track and making sure everything is ready for the next season.

🙌 They are always looking for more volunteers!

🏁 Tuesday – Island Speedway

We were back at Smallbrook Stadium, home of the Wightlink Warriors Speedway Club, for another evening of Speedway, providing:

Keeping riders, officials, staff and spectators safe throughout another night of high-speed racing.

🎆 Wednesday – Sandown Illuminated Carnival

We were delighted to return to Sandown Carnival for their spectacular Illuminated Carnival, providing Paramedic-led Event Medical Cover throughout the evening.

It's always a pleasure working alongside the Sandown Carnival team and supporting another fantastic community event.

🚂 Bank Holiday Weekend – Island Steam Fair

And we're not finished yet!

This Bank Holiday Weekend, our team will be providing Paramedic-led Medical Cover at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway for their 51st Island Steam Fair.

🏁 What a Night at Speedway! 🏍️🚑

Tonight at Smallbrook Stadium, the action was turned up a notch for the Island Best Pairs Championship sponsored by Mark Cooper, alongside the NORA British Women's Final!

The evening was packed with action, drama and some seriously impressive riding, with the quality of racing we've come to expect from Island Speedway, home of the Wightlink Warriors Speedway Club.

And what an atmosphere! 🔥

The stadium was packed with spectators, with so many fans turning out that the banks were starting to fill up. It's fantastic to see such a strong crowd supporting Speedway on the Island!

🏍️⚡ Electric Dirt Bikes Meet Speedway! 🏁🚑

What a fantastic day at Smallbrook Stadium! Home of the Wightlink Warriors Speedway Club!

The Centurion Medical IOW team were on site supporting EXGB with their Speedway Experience, as part of the E-Bee Wight Stars Electric Dirt Bike Festival.

It was a brilliant opportunity for young riders aged between 3 and 14 to experience the thrill of riding on a real shale track and Speedway circuit.

And what a spectacle it was! ⚡🏍️

The all-electric bikes were certainly something different to see flying around the track, but the real highlight was watching the incredible talent, enthusiasm and confidence of the young riders.

It was fantastic to see a new generation getting involved in motorsport and experiencing Speedway in such an exciting and unique way.

We're proud to have been there providing professional event medical cover and helping keep the riders, organisers and spectators safe throughout the day.

This weekend, some of the Centurion Medical IOW team travelled to the Midlands to support our colleagues at Centurion Medical Services as they began an exciting new contract providing CQC-registered medical cover at a football stadium.

It was a real privilege to be part of the first match under the new contract and to help deliver a professional medical operation from day one.

It was also a fantastic opportunity to meet some of our Midlands colleagues in person for the first time. Being part of the wider Centurion Medical Services family means our teams can work together across the country, sharing experience, resources and expertise to deliver the same high standard of care wherever we're needed.

🏁 A Night of Adrenaline-Filled Racing! 🏍️🚑

Last night, the Centurion Medical IOW team were back at Smallbrook Stadium, providing medical cover for another action-packed evening of shale track racing at Island Speedway!

Our deployment included:

⚕️ Operational Commander
🩺 Paramedic-led Trackside Response Team
🚑 Technician-led Emergency Ambulance

The Wightlink Warriors and Wightlink Wizards took on the Mildenhall Speedway Club in an incredibly close meeting, packed with non-stop racing, plenty of drama and a fantastic atmosphere.

It all came down to a thrilling final, with the Fen Tigers eventually taking the win 46–44. A fantastic contest and an agonisingly close result for the Warriors!

🏍️ 30 Years of Speedway on the Isle of Wight!

Island Speedway is celebrating its 30th year of Speedway on the Island, and if you've never been to Smallbrook Stadium, it's a fantastic evening out for the whole family.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Under 16s go FREE when accompanied by a paying adult!

Come along, experience the noise, the speed and the atmosphere of Speedway for yourself – and cheer on our Island teams!
