The Palette -/- The Process

While I’m still relatively new to tattooing portraits, I’ve found that achieving a close likeness largely depends on getting the colour palette just right. My process involves sourcing the highest quality photo possible to capture key features accurately, then using Procreate’s color picker or the app InkMaps to identify and match the prominent tones but I’ve found myself also able to eyeball it quite well too. This approach so far has helped me create my art to the best of my ability so far! If anyone has any pointers it would be greatly appreciated 🤘
