8 years ago today… 🎓

Eight years ago I graduated from the University of Salford with a First Class Honours degree in Podiatry and was honoured to receive the award for Best Final Year Full-Time Student.

After almost 25 years working through many technical roles at British Gas ( inc gas engineer) going back to university as a mature student was one of the biggest decisions I’ve ever made. There were times I questioned whether I was doing the right thing, but it completely changed my life... and I absolutely love what I do!

Over the last eight years I’ve had the privilege of treating so many wonderful patients, and I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who’s trusted me with their foot care and supported Valentines Podiatry.

What I realised is that changing direction isn’t just about careers. It’s about having the confidence to believe there isn’t only one path through life and taking the risk.

That’s why I’ve started another passion project, The Built Differently – a platform built around two simple ideas:
🎙️ The Listening Project – giving young people a chance to be heard.
✨ Inspiring Stories – sharing honest conversations with people who’ve overcome challenges, changed direction or taken an unexpected path in life.
Because sometimes, one conversation can change everything.

Monday: 9:00am – 5:30pm
Tuesday: 9:00am – 5:30pm
Wednesday: Emergency appointments only (please call 07715 398892 to check availability)
Thursday: 11:00am – 7:00pm
Friday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
Saturday: 9:00am – 12:00pm

Good luck to anyone running the Manchester Great run this weekend!

Few tips .. Don’t wear brand new trainers for race day
• Cut your toenails before the race, not the night before
• Run in the socks you have trained in ( washed of course )
• Take some plain blister plasters on your run
• Stretch well beforehand

Most running injuries don’t just suddenly appear… there’s usually been little warning signs for weeks.

If your feet, knees, Achilles or hips are starting to complain during training, get them looked at early rather than trying to push through it 👣

Good luck to everyone training at the moment. The commitment runners put in is impressive .
