As Carers Week comes to a close, today was a wonderful reminder of just how caring and compassionate this profession truly is. 💜
Today at Toray Pines, we were fortunate to receive support from a few carers from other Tanglewood homes. They stepped in with kindness, professionalism, and a genuine willingness to help, making a real difference to both our team and our residents.
To all of our carers – thank you. Your dedication, patience, compassion, and unwavering commitment never go unnoticed. Every day, you bring comfort, dignity, friendship, and support to those who need it most. You are the heart of our homes, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you do.
Today showed the true spirit of teamwork, compassion, and community that makes caring such a special profession.

We are delighted to invite our local community to join us for Toray Pines Open Week from 15th–21st June. We have a fantastic week of activities planned for our residents, families, friends, and visitors, and we’d love for you to come along and join in the fun!

From fitness sessions and World Cup celebrations to our popular Memory Café, pre-loved clothing sale, indoor street party, and Father’s Day lunch and quiz, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

🍋☀️ National Iced Tea Day at Toray Pines! ☀️🍑🥤
Today we celebrated National Iced Tea Day with a refreshing twist on a classic favourite! Residents were offered homemade lemon and peach iced tea, along with iced coffee for those feeling a little adventurous.
The biggest talking point of the day? Explaining that iced tea is, in fact, tea... just claughs and great conversations.
Some residents were even intrigued enough to sample iced coffee too — proving you're never too old to try something new!
A change from the usual cuppa, and a fun way to celebrate together. 🍋🍑☕💛old! 🤣
There were a few raised eyebrows, some puzzled expressions, and more than one "Tea is supposed to be hot!" comment. But despite the mixed reactions to the idea of "cold tea," everyone was willing to give it a try.

Same colour, same smiles, and clearly the same excellent taste. We'd say it's a coincidence, but we're starting to wonder if matching outfits are becoming the new staff-resident uniform! 🤭

Today was all about exercising both our minds and our bodies here at Toray Pines! 🧠💪

We started the day with some brain-training fun using the word Tanglewood to see how many smaller words we could make from its letters. Our ground floor residents did brilliantly, finding an impressive 56 words, while our first floor residents, with a little help from family members and staff, managed a fantastic 80 words! 👏

We then put our thinking caps on and worked our way through the alphabet, seeing how many fruits and vegetables we could name for each letter (we may have cheated a little for the letter X ) Not stopping there, we moved on to countries from A to Z too! It was wonderful to see everyone chatting, sharing ideas, and helping each other out along the way.

This afternoon it was time to get moving as the lovely Elly from Be Great Fitness joined us for some band exercises. There were plenty of stretches, strengthening exercises, and, of course, lots of laughter and giggles throughout the session! 😊

A wonderful day of keeping both our minds active and our bodies moving. Well done everyone! ❤️

🏃‍♀️💙 Good Luck, Sophie 💙🏃‍♀️

Tomorrow, our amazing Lead Lifestyles Coordinator, Sophie will be taking on the Lake District Ultra Challenge, walking an incredible 25km in support of the residents here at Toray Pines.

We are all so proud of her for taking on this fantastic challenge. Her dedication, energy, and commitment to enriching the lives of our residents shines through every day, and now she’s going the extra mile—quite literally! 😊

All of our residents, relatives, friends, and team members will be cheering her on every step of the way as she tackles the beautiful but challenging Lake District route.

Good luck, Sophie! We know you’ll do an amazing job, and we’ll all be rooting for you from Toray Pines. 💪🥾❤️

🐟🍟 National Fish & Chip Day at Toray Pines 🍟🐟

Today we celebrated National Fish & Chip Day in the best way possible – with a delicious lunch from our local chip shop, Chipmunks 😋

There’s something special about enjoying a traditional fish and chip lunch, and it certainly brought plenty of smiles to our residents’ faces today. The fish was perfectly cooked, the chips were delicious, and there were lots of happy conversations around the table as everyone tucked in.

A big thank you to chipmunks for helping us celebrate this much-loved British tradition. It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying a classic treat and sharing memories of fish and chip suppers from years gone by.

Sometimes it’s the simple things in life that bring the greatest joy! ❤️
