Return to Broomhead…Galentine’s Edition 💕🌊

Last time we were here?
Dropped my phone.
Watched it sink to the watery depths like Titanic: Reservoir Cut 📱🌊

A month later someone found it and returned it.
Actual mermaid admin.

So this was the return.
Galentine’s dip.
No drama. Just women with questionable hobbies and excellent resilience 💁🏼‍♀️✨

4.9°C.
Ten full minutes.
Water levels high.

The SUN WAS OUT ☀️🤘🏼
Sparkling. Bright. Zero gloom.

Cold biting everywhere.
Face warm from the sunshine.
Laughing so hard we nearly swallowed the reservoir.

And yes…
Ni***es like torpedoes 🚀
Which sent us into absolute hysterics because nothing bonds women like hypothermic comedy 😂

Out buzzing.
Redeemed.
Phone firmly on dry land this time.

Wine and chips at The Castle after 🍷🍟
Because Galentine’s rules clearly state: freeze first, feast after.

Broomhead – we’re square now.

Sunlit.
Cold-soaked.
Friendship-fuelled. 💕🔥

The Travelling Dippers
Water. Wherever. 🌊✨

So… where have we been?

📍 Flamborough

You already know we love this place.

Cliffs that make you feel small. Sea that makes you feel alive. Wind that rearranges your personality.

Friday – Sea Said No. We Said Fine. 🏴‍☠️
Plan: Sea pool at Selwicks Bay.
Reality: The sea was absolutely not cooperating.
So we pivoted to North Landing.

Still wild. Still moody. Still not dipping.
Did we sulk? No.

We dug for buried treasure instead. Pirate heritage unlocked. 🏴‍☠️

Sand in crocs. Sea glass secured. Suspiciously important pebbles adopted.

Selwicks sea pool… we will return. Mark it.

Saturday – Slips. Actual Trips. Wild Energy. 🌊
Off to Hayburn Wyke.

Yes. That is a waterfall. On a beach.

The trail? Slippy. Me? On the floor. Three times. THREE.
I genuinely think I’ve damaged my shin. 🤦‍♀️

Found a stick. Emotional support stick. Waterfall raging. Sea raging. Energy matched.

Quick dip in the plunge pool because obviously. Cold. Punchy. Worth it.

Hiked back up like damp woodland goblins and rewarded ourselves with a glorious “bit of everything” sharing platter at the pub.
Balance. 🥂

Saturday Afternoon – South Landing Makes an Entrance 👀
📍 South Landing

Quick reconnaissance trip.

Bumped into Sara and Bella (dog) litter picking for Keep Flamborough Tidy. Legends. 🐾

We assessed the sea. Tilted heads. Did the feral maths.
Conclusion: Dippable.

Gently (read: persuasively) twisted Sara’s arm to join us.

In we went.
Sea still spicy. Hearts full. Zero regrets.

Sunday – Risk It for a Biscuit ☀️
Back to South Landing for one final dip before heading home.

Joined by Jill and Em, Trudy and Sarah from The Flamborough Sea Queens — elite company.

And then…
The sun came out. ☀️ The waves softened. The sea stopped fighting and started playing.

We floated. We laughed. We absolutely did not want to get out.

That kind of cold water bliss where your brain switches off and your body just exists in the moment.
Magic.

So yes.
We slipped. We tripped. We dipped.
We bruised shins. We found treasure. We made new friends. We returned home salty, sandy and smug.

The Travelling Dippers. Water. Wherever. 🌊✨

A New Chapter 🌊🔥

Slips, Trips & Wild Dips… has levelled up.

We’ve dipped in sideways rain.
We’ve chased tides like they owed us money.
We’ve stood in car parks at stupid o’clock questioning our life choices… and then got in anyway. 🥶💙

Somewhere between frozen toes, sandy crocs and feral post-dip snacks… we realised something:

We’re not tied to one beach.
We’re not loyal to one postcode.
We’re roamers.
We’re map-chasers.
We’re water hunters. 📍

So here it is —

✨ The Travelling Dippers ✨
Water. Wherever.

Sea 🌊
River 🏞️
Lake 💦
Waterfall ⛰️

If there’s water — we’re in it. No negotiations.
Same chaos.
Same cold-water endorphins.
Same slightly unhinged sunrise energy. 🌅

Just a name that finally fits who we’ve become.
