Simply Anxious

Simply Anxious There is a calm, safe and supported life after anxiety. A gentle space to help you find your way back to it 🤍

Just a little post to share the choices I made for myself to make life feel a little kinder, and I can honestly feel how much they have helped me bounce back, navigate stress and steady myself through any anxious storms.

They haven’t made life perfect or stopped me from ever feeling anxious. But they have helped me feel stronger, calmer and more able to find my way back to myself when life feels hard.

We all find different things that support us. These are mine. 🤍

I hope they inspire ☺️

Learning to trust has been one of the hardest lessons for me and honestly, in some areas of my life, I’m still working on it.

Trusting the process, the pauses, myself… it never came naturally. I used to want proof, control, certainty, reassurance after reassurance. But the more I’ve learned to let go and lean into trust, the lighter life feels. It’s empowering realising you don’t need to have it all figured out to be on the right path. 🤍✨

Sometimes life feels hard, messy and, if I’m honest, a bit of a s**t show.

The worries feel heavy. The same questions go round and round. And you’re tired of trying to work it all out.

Sometimes, you just need someone to say, “I’ve got you.” And feel safe enough to let yourself fall apart a little. 🤍

My pattern for years has been to retreat. Close the door. Go quiet. Tell myself I’ll be sociable again when I feel more like me.

But I’m trying to change that. To let people see me while I’m struggling, instead of waiting until I can say, “I’m fine.”

With the grief, the house move and so much uncertainty, I’ve needed these reminders myself.

And sharing some of that honestly has brought messages filled with kindness, encouragement and practical help. People taking time out of their own lives to remind me that I matter. It has meant more than they probably realise.

So if you’re having a hard time too, you don’t have to make it look tidy before you deserve support.

You’re allowed to say, “I’m struggling.”
You’re allowed to ask for company.
You’re allowed to need a hug without a whole conversation about what you should be doing differently.

And if support feels missing right now, I know these words don’t replace someone being there. But please don’t take someone else’s lack of care as a measure of what you deserve.

There are kind people in this world. I’ve been reminded of that lately, sometimes in the most unexpected ways.

We can take the next step when we’re ready. Today, a little comfort is enough. 🤍

What would feel most supportive for you today?

Even though I have a lot to organise this month, I can feel in the air… the permission September is whispering to me to slow down, soften a little and stop rushing myself.

To spend more time in nature, nourish myself, be creative, rest when I need to and remember that I don’t have to fill every moment with doing.

There is a lot ahead, but I want to move through it gently. If you’re going through a lot give September a chance to slow you down a little and guide you gently too. 🍂🤎

Just leaving this little reminder here for me, and for anyone else who needs that nudge to feel the fear and do it anyway. 🤗

I’m not going to let fear hold me back. I’ve come too far to fall back into that old pattern.

But I’ll admit, it’s definitely been nibbling at me this past week. The doubts, the what ifs, that little voice telling me it might be safer not to.😳

So I made this as a reminder to myself too. Because when I look back at all the times I’ve done it scared, something bloody brilliant has happened…

And I was ok . 🥰

Maybe courage isn’t waiting until we’re no longer scared. Maybe it’s being scared and choosing to do it anyway. 🤍🌿

Let September show us how to slow our pace, soften our grip, and remember we don’t have to hold everything so tightly.

This month, I have a lot of change and so I release the need to force anything and instead lean into the gentleness of this month and the quiet healing that comes when we give ourselves permission to exhale with the season. 🍂

✨ What are you ready to release as we step into
September?

I’ve been going through some challenging days recently, and I’ll be honest, there have been moments when I’ve needed these reminders just as much as anyone. 🤍

When we’re right in the middle of something difficult, it can feel incredibly isolating and permanent. Like this is how life is going to feel now.

But it isn’t.

The heaviness lifts. The nervous system settles. Brighter moments find their way back in. And somehow, one small day at a time, we make our way through things we once wondered how we would ever cope with.

I share reminders like these because I need them too. They’re little things I come back to when life feels a bit too much.

So if you’re having a difficult time at the moment, save this for the days you need it. 🤍

No fixing. No forcing.

Just a little more gentleness with yourself.

This will pass. You will be OK. 🤍
