We’re taking R1SE on the Road to the unLTD Business Expo this Wednesday, and our recovery zone is open to everyone. Pop over for 15 minutes in the compression boots or a red light belts, on us.

As Sheffield Small Business of the Year 2025, we also run away days for teams: stress-management tools, guided breathwork, movement and recovery to help everyone handle pressure better.

It’s World Mental Health Day 💚

A little reminder that you don’t have to be productive, positive, or pushing yourself every single day.

Sometimes moving your body helps. Sometimes slowing down does. Sometimes you just need a bit of space, a good chat, or to give yourself permission to do less.

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to looking after yourself. Meet yourself where you are, and give yourself a bit of grace.

And if today feels heavy, you don’t have to carry it alone. Check in on your people, and don’t be afraid to reach out.

The 10K isn’t the hardest part. Tuesday is.

So we’re taking R1SE Recovery Zone to the finish line on Sunday. Fifteen minutes in the compression boots, FREE, for anyone who’s just run it. Massage guns and red light belts will be there too if you want them.

Here’s the odd thing about getting more flexible. Your muscles aren’t really getting longer.

When researchers measured people through three to eight week stretching programmes, the muscle and tendon properties barely shifted. What changed was how far the body was willing to be taken before it objected.

Because a stretch isn’t only a mechanical thing. There’s a protective system deciding how far is safe, and it’s set conservatively. Show it the same position enough times and it recalibrates. It stops flinching.

So the person who can suddenly fold further after a few months hasn’t grown longer hamstrings. They’ve convinced something quite deep down that this position is fine.

Which is a much better story, and it works on more than hamstrings.
