Another old stairlift reaching the end of it's working life this week, swapped out for a Homegilde.

Nothing dramatic about the process, old rail out, new rail in, the same test runs we do on every install, but it's worth remembering that stairlifts don't last forever. If yours has started needed more visits from an engineerthan it used to, that's usually the sign.

A Disabled Facilities Grant can cover the cost of adapting a home, but it doesn't come with a guarantee.

Here's what DFG actually is, why the national success rate sits at around 50% and what happens if yours doesn't come through. Being turned down for funding doesn't make the need for the adaptation disappear.

A brand new Flow X stairlift going in today.

Straightforward on paper: rail fitted to the staircase, seat set up, controls tested. What it actually gives back is a bit bigger than that, a house someone can use fully again, without planning every trip up and down around it.

The pattern we see most often isn't people adapting too early. It's people waiting until they have no choice.

In this clip, our team talks about why stairlifts are the classic example, by the time it's an emergency, you're already managing a problem that's gone wrong, instead of preventing on.

The earlier conversation is almost always the easier one. Talk to us before it goes wrong, not after.

It's one of the more common calls we get, not because the original lift failed badly, but because it's simply had its years. A good stairlift tends to tell you when it's time, and this one did.

Through-floor lifts get talked about less than stairlifts, but for the right staircase, they're often the better fix.
