Hey Folks! Looking for a 1/2 term activity?
AT Our Proper Place we are creating craft kit monster mash ups!
You know all those craft kits that never get used and sit in the cupboard for years, or sent off to the school tombola? Well we are emptying them out, mashing them up and making brand new creations.

Another couple of busy weeks for Proper Community Works! The group met with Ludi of Wycliffe Residents Association to find out about helping to look after some of their planters. The group were really interested in being part of this great community gardening project.

We've also been concentrating on our Christmas Fair product making! This included practical activities such as sanding, assembling and gluing, as well as developing greetings card designs from our artwork.

A trip into Bradford last week to visit the Flower Carpet for the Proper Community Works group. Designed by local artist Shiraaz Ali and on display as part of the Bradford Culture Company programme, we enjoyed seeing this spectacular artwork in our community.

Our Proper Community Works group have been visiting local organisations to find out about volunteering opportunities in our area.

We visited Baildon, Shipley & Saltaire Men's Shed at Northcliffe Park to hear more about how we can be involved and learn some woodworking skills. We went up to Bracken Hall Countryside Centre to find out about nature and conservation volunteering.

Our Proper Community Works group visited Bradford Museums and Galleries Cartwright Hall to see the Jim Moir exhibition last week. We spent time in the gallery creating our own colourful bird artworks, followed by a zine workshop.

Proper Community Works is for people aged 16+ who have learning disabilities or who are neurodivergent. Our sessions support people to be part of the local community, explore new places, find new groups or volunteering opportunities and spend time with others. Our Proper Community Works had a fab morning when we joined the BEES volunteering group up on Baildon Moor. We learnt about using tools safely and what to wear to avoid ticks. We really enjoyed pulling out loads of bracken - it was hot work but what a great view!

We packed a lot into today's Proper Games session! Table tennis, marble run, puzzles and darts all proved to be popular 🏓
