**A few lovely words from Saturday’s Yang Style 8 Form workshop**

It was a real pleasure to spend the morning teaching this beautiful traditional form, and I’m very grateful to everyone who came along and gave it a go.

Here’s what some of the participants had to say:

“Alissa is far and away the best Tai Chi instructor I’ve ever had, and I’ve tried many. She gives completely clear instructions at all times, for example the height your hands should be, positioning of feet, weight transference, direction you should be facing. You name it, she has it covered. I can guarantee that you will leave a workshop having learnt a lot. You also receive a video after the course of Alissa performing the Form so that you are able to practice at home.”

“Great workshop. Pace was just right and care & help with performing the moves was excellent. Very much looking forward to the next one.”

“Having metal plates in my spine, ankle and a total knee replacement, I found the workshop not too taxing. Alissa works at a pace you are happy with, highly recommended!”

---------------------------------------------------------

The workshop was completely sold out, which was wonderful, and I’m already looking forward to the next one.

My next beginners’ Yang Style 8 Form workshop is:

Saturday 17 October
10.45 - 13.45
Cherington Village Hall, Cherington, Shipston-on-Stour

If you’ve been thinking about learning tai chi, this is a great opportunity to learn the complete 8 Form in a friendly, relaxed and accessible workshop.

Spaces are limited, so if you’re interested, I’d recommend booking sooner rather than later.

Some days become memories for life.

I had the incredible good fortune to meet Professor Li Deyin today during my weekend tai chi training.

Professor Li is one of China’s most renowned Tai Chi masters and the creator of many modern competition forms, including the 24 Step Taijiquan, 48 Step Taijiquan, Taiji Kungfu Fan, and Xiyangmei Taiji Kungfu Fan. He is also widely regarded as the world’s foremost authority on the 24 Step Simplified Yang Style Taijiquan, 88 Step Traditional Yang Style Taijiquan, Wudang Taiji Sword, and 32 Step Yang Style Taijijian.

It was equally wonderful to finally meet his daughter, Faye, and to spend time learning from her husband, Tary, who together lead the Deyin Tai Chi Institute. Their dedication to preserving and sharing Professor Li’s teachings is truly inspiring.

A humbling and unforgettable experience, and a reminder that Tai Chi is not only about movement, but about tradition, lifelong learning, and the people who dedicate themselves to passing it on.

New research shows qigong can reduce symptoms of depression and improve sleep — a simple, gentle practice that supports mental wellbeing.

Qigong combines slow, flowing movement, breath control and focused attention. Studies report that regular practice helps lower anxiety, lift mood and improve sleep quality — benefits many people notice within a few weeks of practising consistently.

Try this:

Start with 10–15 minutes a day, focusing on synchronising breath with movement.

Choose short, repeatable routines and be patient — small, steady steps add up.

Prefer company? Join one of my weekly classes in Shipston‑on‑Stour, my weekly Tai Chi Qigong class in Kenilworth, or practise online via Zoom. No special equipment needed. Book a drop‑in or find a free starter video on my website: https://breath-therapy.uk

Join me, the wonderful Joanne, Simone & Lee, and other kindred souls for this fantastic day retreat in beautiful Broadway!

There is a kind of space I see so many women craving right now and I too have craved this as I have moved through my 40's....

💫 A space where they don’t have to hold it all together.
💫 A space where the masks, the roles, the responsibilities, and the pressure can soften for a while.
💫 A space where they can simply be.

The space looks something like......

💫 More than just a moment of pause.
💫 Something that feels nurturing, soul-led, and lasting.
💫 Where I could feel seen, heard, held, and gently guided back to myself.
💫 Where, even just for a moment, I could glimpse who I really am underneath the good girl conditioning, the people pleasing, and everything life has asked me to carry.

That is the heart behind Flourish: A Journey Back to the Heart. ♥️

This day retreat has been created from that place in me, and for that place in you. 🫶

It is a one-day healing and empowerment retreat for women who are ready to lay down what they’ve been carrying and reconnect with themselves in a deeper, more honest way.

On Sunday 7th June at The Lygon Arms, Broadway, I’ll be holding a beautiful day of heart-led healing and reconnection, including:

✨ Cacao Ceremony
✨ Guided Meditation
✨ People Pleasing & Boundaries Coaching
✨ Qi Gong energy movement
✨ Sound Therapy
✨ Energy Healing
✨ Inner Child Healing
✨ A beautiful two-course lunch

This is more than just a retreat day.
It is a space to soften.
To reflect.
To reconnect.
To be nurtured.
To remember who you are beneath the noise.

You’ll leave feeling lighter, calmer, more grounded, and more deeply connected to who you are beneath the noise of everyday life.

I have some beautiful practitioners joining me at The Lygon Arms - for Qi Gong & breath this will be hosted by the beautiful Alissa from Breath Therapy & the sound therapy will be Simone & Lee from Coterie Holistic Wellness

📆Sunday 7th June 2026
