The Sidcup Partners BID The BID is funded by a small ‘levy’ on businesses within the area, based on the rateable value of their property.

The Sidcup Partners BID (Business Improvement District) is a business-led and business funded body formed to support the community and economic growth in Sidcup. In November 2016, the businesses in Sidcup voted in favour of creating a Business Improvement District (BID) and paying an annual contribution to help fund additional projects, services and events that would improve the local environment for the benefit of the community, businesses, employees and visitors alike. This raises in the region of £167,000 each year during the five-year term, so approximately £835,000 in total. This money will be used to promote Sidcup, to enhance the experience for visitors, to enable businesses to work together and to provide services to reduce business overheads. BID services are additional to those provided by the Council, Police and other providers. The Sidcup BID includes approximately 400 levy payers including well-known brands and organisations in the retail, leisure, hospitality and public sectors. We are an independent, non-profit company limited by guarantee. All the projects and services we deliver are additional to – not in place of – those already provided by the London Borough of Bexley. Our key aim is to raise the profile of Sidcup as a safe, clean, attractive and well-regarded destination for businesses, residents and visitors alike.

👏 A massive well done to our local neighbourhood policing teams!

Some really positive results from proactive plain clothes patrols across Blendon & Penhill, Blackfen & Lamorbey and Falconwood & Welling on Friday and Saturday evening.

The patrols resulted in

✅ 1 drink driver arrested
✅ 1 driver charged with driving whilst disqualified, with the vehicle seized
✅ 1 person charged with possession of Class A and Class B drugs
✅ 1 person issued with an Out of Court Disposal for possession of cannabis
✅ An illegal e-bike seized at The Oval, with the rider reported for driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and without insurance. The bike has since been destroyed
✅ 16 stop and searches carried out as part of the proactive patrols

A massive well done and thank you to all the officers involved. 👏

It’s great to see proactive, targeted policing responding to residents’ concerns, disrupting criminality and helping to keep our communities safe.

Please continue to report any concerns around crime or anti-social behaviour in your area.
