What a wonderful seaside adventure for our residents and staff from Baugh House Care Centre as we headed off for a day trip to Southend-on-Sea 🌊☀️

We started the day with a lovely ride on the miniature train along the pier, taking in the fresh sea air and beautiful coastal views. There was plenty of excitement and smiles as everyone settled into the rhythm of the waves and the sound of the sea 🚂😊

Later, we visited the arcade for a bit of fun and nostalgia, with the 2p machines proving a real favourite before enjoying a well deserved traditional fish and chips by the sea. There’s something special about sharing those simple seaside moments together 💜

A brilliant day full of laughter, fresh air and great company, the perfect memory making trip for everyone involved 🌊

Our VE Day celebrations were such a special day here at Baugh House Care Centre 💜

We decorated the home with Union Jack flags and bunting, which really set the scene for a lovely afternoon together. There was a real sense of occasion as everyone gathered for a wartime singalong and enjoyed a wonderful live performance from Mindi, our regular singer 🎶

The music sparked so many memories, with residents joining in, tapping along and sharing songs they remembered from years gone by. It naturally led to thoughtful conversations about freedom, history and personal memories of the time, with plenty of reminiscing throughout the day.

It was a truly meaningful celebration, full of connection, reflection and togetherness 😊

April didn’t feel like one big moment across our homes, but lots of smaller ones and that’s what made it so special 💜

There were Easter crafts, feasts, time spent outside as the weather picked up, and plenty of conversations sparked along the way. We also took time to recognise Autism Acceptance Week and Parkinson’s Awareness Week, creating space to learn, reflect and support one another.

St George’s Day brought a bit of fun and familiarity too, with simple touches that made people smile 🏴

It’s these everyday moments that shape life in our homes, not just the celebrations, but the time spent together in between.

A big thank you, as always, to our teams for everything they do to make those moments happen

We’re so pleased to share that Baugh House Care Centre has received a 5-star rating (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐) from our latest EHO inspection 💜

A huge well done to our fantastic kitchen team, who work so hard every day to keep standards high (and plates full!) 🍽️

A special shoutout to our incredible chef, Abi, who leads the team with such care and pride. The meals prepared in our home are such an important part of daily life of our wonderful residents, and it’s lovely to see that recognised in this way 🍽️

What a wonderful and busy week it’s been here at Baugh House Care Centre 💜

We started off by saying a big thank you to Joan from St. Lawrences Roman Catholic Church Sidcup with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Joan kindly volunteers and visits our residents every week, and she has truly become like part of our extended family. Those regular visits mean so much to everyone 🌺

We also had a rather special surprise when a horse and rider popped by to say hello, bringing plenty of smiles and a few excited chats as everyone enjoyed seeing them up close 🐴

To top it all off, we celebrated St George’s Day with a fantastic party, complete with a live performance from Mindi who sang a brilliant selection of traditional British classics. There was plenty of singing along and tapping feet all round 🎶

And to finish the week on a high, we were thrilled to receive a 5 star food rating too 🍽️✨

It really has been a week full of celebrations, kindness and special moments shared together 🎉

We headed out for one of our favourite things to do at Baugh House Care Centre , a day trip into the local community, and this time our Activities Team and some of our wonderful residents went to Ruxley Manor Garden Centre and the London Butterfly Gardens 🌿

We love getting out and about with our residents, and this trip was full of those simple moments that make it so worthwhile. There was plenty to explore, from beautiful plants to little finds in the gift shop, followed by a relaxed stop in the tea rooms for a cup of tea and a slice of cake together 🍵 🍰

The Butterfly Garden felt like a little tropical escape, with colourful butterflies gently fluttering all around us. It was lovely to see everyone taking it all in, sharing smiles and enjoying something a bit different together 🦋

Trips like these are such a special part of life here, helping us stay connected to the world around us. Where should we head to next?
