Karen’s Story: Proof That You CAN Do This 🥰🥰🥰
My journey with Slimming World –
I originally joined Slimming World in 2016 and reached my target weight in 2017, I stayed at target until 2022 when I got sick and ended up in hospital for a week, unfortunately everything went downhill and I started to gain weight again.
In January 2023 I had an operation and I knew that when I was up and about and in the right headspace, I would re-join slimming world –
I rejoined in April 2023 and that was the start of my journey! I suffer from social anxiety and was very anxious about going to group, but I pulled my big girl pants up and attended and met some lovely people that made me feel so welcome and comfortable in attending. My first job was to re-educate myself with food and make some changes. Each week I attended and I watched the weight drop off, I lost between ½ lb to 1lb and some weeks I gained but attending group each week kept me on track for which I am very grateful. In June 2024 I reached target and I was over the moon, and two years later I’m still in target and I attend group every week. People say to me why are you still going and the truth is I enjoy going it keeps me on track and it’s also lovely listening to other members on how they are feeling and watching them reach their goals, if I can help with a little bit of advice then it’s worth it, I also get a lot of support from Abbie, she is very helpful, encouraging and very supportive.
Being at target is a fantastic feeling, I feel so much more confident in myself, and I even attend the gym, which I most probably wouldn’t have if it weren’t for slimming world and loosing weight.
My journey continues even though I’m at target because the hard work starts again and that is to maintain. Stay positive and keep attending as you can reach your goal!
