💜 SEPTEMBER IS RECOVERY MONTH 💜
Recovery Month is a time to celebrate recovery, raise awareness around addiction, challenge stigma, and remind people that recovery is possible.
Addiction doesn’t discriminate. It can affect anyone, from any background, and it isn’t simply about willpower or making the “wrong” choices.
Addiction can take many forms — alcohol, drugs, gambling, s*x and love, smoking, and other compulsive behaviours. Whatever the struggle, there is support available.
Understanding your triggers is an important part of recovery. People, places, emotions, stress, loneliness, boredom and certain situations can all create cravings or urges. Learning to recognise those triggers and finding healthier ways to respond can be a powerful part of the recovery journey.
And recovery isn’t just about stopping a behaviour or substance. It’s about building a life you actually want to live. 💜
As an Addiction Therapist, I work with people at all stages of their journey — whether you’re questioning your relationship with a substance or behaviour, trying to make a change, maintaining recovery, or supporting someone you love.
You don’t have to wait until things get worse to ask for help.
Whatever your struggle, you don’t have to face it alone. 🪷
