Your nervous system directly affects your hormones.

Your nervous system is constantly asking one question in the background: “Am I safe?”

And depending on that answer, it changes how it functions.

When your system feels under threat (stress, overwhelm, constant tension, even just a busy mind), it shifts into survival mode.

In that state, your body prioritises:
adrenaline
cortisol
staying alert

And it quietly puts other things on the back burner:
hormone balance
digestion
repair
long-term health processes

Not because anything is broken but because your body is trying to protect you.

When your system feels safe, everything changes.

Your body can:
regulate hormones more effectively
digest properly
repair and restore
come back into balance

This is why it’s not just about reducing your external toxic load… it’s also about reducing your internal stress load.

Things like:
slowing your breathing
allowing your body to relax
not reacting to every sensation as a threat

These aren’t small things.

They are direct signals to your system: “We’re safe.”

And when the body feels safe it starts to work properly again.

This doesn’t mean stress is bad or that we should never feel it.

It just means: chronic 'on edge' states (which most of us are all the time!!) can keep the body in a loop where it never fully switches into repair mode.

So alongside everything else…

Maybe ask: “Am I giving my body enough signals of safety each day?” ❤️

These are some ways to send your body a signal of safety:

Caring self talk - ditch the inner critic once and for all. This is a massive one.

Slow your breathing - longer exhales

Gentle movement - walking, stretching, pottering

Turn the news off, reduce scrolling

Humming, singing or using your voice

Taking small quiet moments

Being around calm, safe people

Safe, reassuring human touch (massage or hugs)

Being with a calm pet

Walking in nature (along as you feel safe)

🌸 ❤️🪻🙏

If you're fed up of feeling hormonal, or just 'not right' there maybe some things you can change in your house and life which may help you feel better.

🧠 What are endocrine disruptors?

Endocrine disruptors are chemicals that interfere with your hormone system — they can:

Mimic hormones (especially estrogen)
Block hormones
Mess with production, transport, or breakdown

Your endocrine system = your body’s messaging system (mood, metabolism, reproductive cycles, stress, sleep, all of it).

🚨 Major Endocrine Disruptors (Common Ones)

🧴 1. BPA (Bisphenol A)
Found in: plastic bottles, food containers, can linings
Known for: mimicking estrogen

👉 Also look out for:
BPS / BPF (the “BPA-free” replacements… often similar effects)

🧼 2. Phthalates
Found in: perfumes, cosmetics, shampoos, air fresheners, plastics. Often just listed as “fragrance”

👉 Effects:
Hormone disruption
Linked to reproductive and metabolic issues

🧴 3. Parabens
Found in: skincare, makeup, lotions
Used as preservatives

👉 Mimic weak estrogen → can add to overall hormonal load

🧴 4. Triclosan
Found in: antibacterial soaps, toothpaste (less common now but still around)

👉 Can interfere with thyroid hormones

🌾 5. Pesticides (e.g. Glyphosate, DDT)
Found in: non-organic produce, agriculture

👉 Known to:
Disrupt estrogen and androgen systems
Affect nervous system too

🧽 6. Dioxins
Byproducts of industrial processes, waste burning and in animal products

👉 Extremely potent:
Affect reproductive + immune systems

🐟 7. PCBs (Polychlorinated Biphenyls)
Banned but still persist in environment (especially in fatty fish)

👉 Long-lasting in the body = slow hormonal chaos over time

🔥 8. Flame Retardants (PBDEs)
Found in: furniture, mattresses, electronics

👉 Linked to:
Thyroid disruption
Neurodevelopment issues

🍳 9. PFAS (“Forever Chemicals”)
Found in: non-stick cookware, waterproof fabrics, food packaging

👉These stay in the body for years

🧴 10. Heavy Metals
Examples: lead, mercury, cadmium

👉 Can interfere with:
Hormone production
Nervous system signalling

🌬️ 11. Air Pollution Compounds
Found in: vehicle emissions, industrial pollution

👉 Linked to:
Cortisol imbalance
Reproductive hormone disruption

🌿 What to do now?

Most of these things you can easily swap for non toxic alternatives. Reduce the toxic load from your life, support your body, and let it find its way back to balance

🥕The Yuka app is really helpful. You scan the barcode of things (food, toiletries) and it'll tell you how toxic it is!

Remember the fundraiser we did for the Nepalese school kids? I just got some videos and photos from the teacher of them being given their clothes! Thanks again to those of you who donated! ❤️ They were SO grateful 🙏❤️ For some reason I can't post videos and photos on the same post so I'll share the videos on the next post.

Today marks five years since my brother died in a tragic accident. On that same day he joined my mum and dad, and life has never felt the same since.

If you are going through something difficult right now, I think it’s important we acknowledge just how much strength it takes just to keep going. Getting through each week can take every ounce of energy we have — and that’s before we’ve done anything else!

We rarely give ourselves credit for that.

So today, even if just for today, let’s be especially kind to ourselves. Life can be hard, and we are all doing the very best we can. ❤️ ###

Over the years, I’ve worked with hundreds of clients — different ages, different lives, different stories. And yet the pattern is often the same.

Chronic tension.
Overthinking.
Nervous systems that haven’t properly switched off in years.

They carry emotional load, mental load, responsibility and always put everyone else before them.

On the outside, they’re coping. But their bodies are so tense, their minds wont stop, and they’re often close to burnout

Many tell me they rarely take proper time for themselves — and when they do, they feel guilty.

My treatments aren’t just about working on muscles. They’re designed to support the whole system — body and mind

• Release deep, stress-held tension
• Calm an overactive mind
• Support your nervous system in coming out of stress mode
• Ease the physical symptoms of emotional overload
• Create space for emotional release in a safe environment
• Restore a sense of grounding and steadiness
• Increase feelings of calm, comfort and being properly cared for

Nurturing, professional touch supports the body’s natural calming responses — helping reduce stress hormones and encouraging the chemistry associated with safety and wellbeing.

This is simply time for you to come back to yourself

If you’ve been holding everything together for a long time, your body may be ready to put some of it down.

❤️🙏❤️
