The kids are back at school… so what are you going to do with your time now? ❤️

For me, September feels like a chance to reset and come back to myself.

Before the holidays, I was finishing my two-year counselling course (I’m nearly qualified! 🎉), alongside work, family and everything else. I’m so excited to bring what I’ve learnt into my hypnotherapy work because I genuinely love helping people.

Then came six weeks of school holidays… and I don’t think I realised just how much I’d been pushing myself.

Trying to juggle too much, putting everyone else first and constantly feeling like I needed to keep going.

There were lots of times when I felt like I was simply surviving the day… or surviving the week.

And when you add perimenopause into the mix, running on empty can really catch up with you.

So this September, I’m choosing to slow down a little. 🌿

More self-care. More time to breathe.

And maybe this is the month you allow yourself just one hour of relaxation too.

An hour of hypnotherapy to step away from the noise, quieten those busy thoughts, relax your mind and body and give your nervous system a chance to settle.

No demands.
No rushing.
No one needing anything from you.
Just one hour for you. ❤️

Because we spend so much time caring for everyone else, sometimes we forget that we need looking after too.

Here’s to a gentler September, a little more balance and putting ourselves back on the list. ✨

What will you be doing with your time now the kids are back at school?

Today has been one of those rare, completely chilled days.

The kids have been doing their own thing, I’ve managed to watch a film in peace and, for once, I haven’t felt guilty about taking some time for myself.

And it got me thinking about how often women — especially around perimenopause — feel like they should constantly be doing something.

We’re looking after everyone else, keeping on top of the house, work, children, life… and somehow still feel guilty when we finally sit down.

But rest isn’t being lazy.

Taking time for yourself isn’t selfish.

And you don’t have to earn the right to switch off.

Perimenopause can be such a challenging time emotionally as well as physically, and sometimes we need to start giving ourselves the same kindness and care that we so freely give everyone else.

This is one of the areas I love exploring with clients through hypnotherapy — helping women feel calmer, more in control, and more able to switch off from that constant mental load.

Maybe today is your reminder that it’s okay to have a lazy day too. ❤️

How can hypnotherapy help you?

For anyone suffering with depression:

DEPRESSION TIPS 🤍🤍

Shower. Not a bath, a shower. Use water as hot or cold as you like. You don’t even need to wash. Just get in under the water and let it run over you for a while. Sit on the floor if you gotta.

Moisturize everything. Use whatever lotion you like. Unscented? Pound shop lotion? Fancy 48 hour lotion that makes you smell like a field of wildflowers? Use whatever you want, and use it all over your entire dermis.

Put on clean, comfortable clothes.

Put on your favorite underwear. Cute black lacy panties? Those ridiculous boxers you bought last christmas with candy cane hearts on the butt? Put them on.

Drink cold water. Use ice. If you want, add some mint or lemon for an extra boost. I always use lemon.

Clean something. Doesn’t have to be anything big. Organize one drawer of a desk. Wash five dirty dishes. Do a load of laundry. Scrub the bathroom sink.

Blast music. Listen to something upbeat and dancey and loud, something that’s got lots of energy. Sing to it, dance to it, even if you suck at both.

Make food. Don’t just grab a granola bar to munch. Take the time and make food. Even if it’s ramen. Add something special to it, like a soft boiled egg or some veggies. Prepare food, it tastes way better, and you’ll feel like you accomplished something.

Make something. Write a short story or a poem, draw a picture, color a picture, fold origami, crochet or knit, sculpt something out of clay, anything artistic. Even if you don’t think you’re good at it. Create.

Go outside. Take a walk. Sit in the grass. Look at the clouds. Smell flowers. Put your hands in the dirt and feel the soil against your skin.

Call someone. Call a loved one, a friend, a family member, call a chat service if you have no one else to call. Talk to a stranger on the street. Have a conversation and listen to someone’s voice. If you can’t bring yourself to call, text or email or whatever, just have some social interaction with another person. Even if you don’t say much, listen to them. It helps.

Cuddle your pets if you have them/can cuddle them. Take pictures of them. Talk to them. Tell them how you feel, about your favorite movie, a new game coming out, anything.

May seem small or silly to some, but this list keeps people alive.

*** At your absolute best you won’t be good enough for the wrong people. But at your worst, you’ll still be worth it to the right ones. Remember that. Keep holding on.***

**** In case nobody has told you today you are worth your weight and then some in gold, so be kind to yourself and most of all don’t give up.

Find something to be grateful for!

Hypnotherapy can help uncover the unconscious patterns keeping us stuck in the past, overwhelmed in the present, or anxious about the future. Change happens when the mind learns that it no longer has to stay in survival mode. Mindovermatterht.com

Your mind is powerful. It can keep you stuck in fear, overthinking and limiting beliefs… or it can become your greatest tool for confidence, calm and growth. Hypnotherapy works by helping you rewire the patterns running beneath the surface — so you can stop surviving and start thriving.
