Some of you may have noticed that I haven’t posted here for a while…

There has been a lot going on behind the scenes, both in my personal and professional life. After much reflection and consideration, I have found myself in a position where there was a growing gap between my desire to move forward with Call Of The Roots and my actual capacity to do so.

If you’re expecting a heartbreaking story or spicy details, you might as well stop reading here because I have no intention of over explaining myself or make excuses. But I’m not going to hide, sugarcoat or pretend that everything is peachy either. I am simply here to tell you that I have nothing to offer at the moment, except for the plain truth. And while this truth may be very emotional for me, it has been staring at me for quite some time and it is time for it to be acknowledged.

I am not saying goodbye by any means, but I am consciously stepping away from a pattern of pushing myself to build and sustain something meaningful while in a continuous state of depletion.

Moving forward, all sound healing sessions and bespoke percussion tool commissions are suspended until further notice. Meanwhile, I do still have a curated selection of ready made rattles, drum beaters and medicine pouches available to purchase on my website (link in bio). If something has caught your attention, please message me directly for up-to-date photos, sound clips and further details.

Wishing you a much-awaited warm and beautiful summer, and I’ll see you in the next chapter of my venture.

Blessings,
Polina 🖤🪶✨

Slowly working through sound-testing and refining a batch of drum beaters, getting to know them through sound and energy.

I’ll be sharing sound clips once I figure out a recording setup that does them justice 🥁

Final prep for this weekend’s holistic fayre with

The past couple of weeks have been a carefully paced rhythm of cutting and sanding wood, braiding yarns for Martenitsa bracelets and gathering the tools that want to travel with me.

Everything on my table is mindfully handmade in small batches- from elaborate percussion tools to simple talismans like wooden keychains and a small batch of Martenitsa bracelets which are seasonal and will be available exclusively at this event ✨

I will also be taking bookings for One to One Sound Healing sessions with Drum 🥁

If you feel called to stop by, I would love to see you there.

Martenitsa- a thread of ancestry 🧶

A much-loved traditional Balkan amulet, worn from the first of March to welcome health and vitality and set the tone for an abundant year ahead.

The colours carry their old symbolic language:

❤️ Red - blood, life force, feminine energy
🤍 White - joy, purity, masculine energy

Intertwined together, they speak of union- the interplay of opposites that exists both in nature and within ourselves, bringing fertility and abundance to all.

Traditionally, Martenitsas are worn on the wrist or pinned to the outer clothing, placed outside the home or tied to fruit bearing trees and domestic animals. Once the first blossomed tree or stork are seen, the amulet is either tied to a tree branch or placed under a stone to carry the intention forward.

There are many stories and legends about the origins of the Martenitsa, but my favourite is perhaps the least known- a tender story of how this ancient amulet helped reunite two souls separated by distance and war. If you’d like to read the story of Pizho and Penda, you can find it on my blog (link in bio)

I will also be bringing a small limited edition batch of Martenitsa bracelets to the upcoming market next Saturday in Romsey

Ever wondered what was before toothbrushes? 🪥

Yes, chewing sticks. Primitive as it may seem, an oak twig is naturally antibacterial and antiseptic while modern day toothbrushes harbour millions of germs and pollute the environment. Food for thought.
