Could you help us save lives through awareness?

Race Against Blood Cancer relies on volunteers to help us reach communities, support donor drives and encourage more people to join the stem cell register.

This Volunteers’ Week, we’re celebrating our amazing volunteers - and we’d love to hear from anyone who wants to get involved.

To find out more, contact us! We’d love to hear from you.

💛 What a fantastic afternoon at the patient, family and friends support group at Wolverhampton New Cross Hospital.

It was wonderful to meet so many amazing people and see so much support, encouragement and friendship in one room. We also made some great connections with other organisations, and we’re excited to collaborate with them to help get even more people onto the stem cell donor register.

Thank you to Andrea and team who hosted to make the event such a success. Together, we are stronger. 💛🌻

Meet Courtney, one of our incredible volunteers from Telford! 💙

Discover what volunteering with Race Against Blood Cancer means to her. 👇

“I chose to volunteer for Race Against Blood Cancer in 2018 when I met Gemma through my workplace. I saw how much dedication, time, and effort went into such an amazing charity, and I wanted to be involved.

I have really enjoyed my time helping to find matches and seeing those matches make such a positive difference for families.

I have watched Gemma grow from a volunteer into a much-loved manager at Race Against Blood Cancer, and I am very grateful for everything she has taught me ❤️

Thank you to Race Against Blood Cancer for encouraging me to step out of my comfort zone, become more confident, and, most importantly, listen to people’s stories “ 🥰

Our student champions play an important role in helping us raise awareness of stem cell donation and reach more young people.

This Volunteers’ Week, we want to say thank you to every student champion who has shared information, started conversations and helped encourage more people to consider joining the stem cell register. 🫶🏻

This Volunteers’ Week, we’re celebrating some of the brilliant people who give their time to support Race Against Blood Cancer.

Sophie Robinson has been a volunteer since 2018

“I love knowing that I have been part of trying to make a positive difference for
those living with blood cancer. Not only is it making an impact on others lives but it
also has given me more confidence in social situations.”

I have met the most incredible people at events hearing about their battles with
blood cancer and how they have beat it because of volunteers like myself signing
people up to the stem cell register. This gives them hope and a chance of living
their life to the fullest. I'm very proud to be a part of this wonderful charity.”

Thank you, Sophie, for being part of our work to raise awareness, encourage more people to join the stem cell register and help tackle donor inequality.

This Volunteers’ Week, we want to say a huge thank you to every volunteer who supports Race Against Blood Cancer. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Because of our volunteers, we can reach more communities, hold more donor drives, have more conversations and encourage more people to join the stem cell register.

Every conversation matters. Every swab matters. Every volunteer helps us move closer to a future where every patient has the best possible chance of finding a matching donor.

Thank you for giving your time, energy and passion to this work.

Race Against Blood Cancer will be at RICOH in Telford on Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday 3rd June for their employee wellbeing events. 💙

During the event, we’ll be raising awareness of blood cancer and giving employees the opportunity to join the stem cell register — something that could one day help save a life.

RICOH are joining our Workplace Warriors campaign, helping us bring lifesaving conversations directly into the workplace, and we’re incredibly excited to be working with them.

The reality is, somebody within your workforce could already be a stem cell match for a person desperately searching for one — they just don’t know it yet.

That’s why workplace partnerships like this matter so much.

If your business would like to get involved and be part of something truly life-changing, we’d love to hear from you.

🏃 This Saturday morning, we’ll be heading to Telford Parkrun with one very important mission — to sign up as many runners, volunteers, supporters, and spectators as possible to the stem cell register.

📍 Telford Parkrun
📅 Saturday 30th May
⏰From 8.30am

Every new person who joins the register could be the lifesaving match someone desperately waiting for a stem cell transplant. For people living with blood cancer and other blood disorders, a donor can mean hope, a second chance, and more precious time with the people they love.

The process to join the register is quick, simple, and could genuinely save a life.

Whether you’re running the 5K, cheering from the sidelines, or just enjoying the atmosphere, please come and have a chat with us. Together, we can raise awareness, grow the register, and make a real difference for families affected by blood cancer.

Let’s show the incredible power of the Parkrun community and help bring hope to those who need it most. ❤️
