🏋️‍♀️After a workout, what you eat is just as important as the workout itself.

Many people reach out for protein shakes or cold smoothies. But in Ayurveda, especially during spring, digestion is naturally slower.
Cold and heavy foods can lead to:
Bloating
Slow digestion
Low energy later in the day

This is why I prefer warm, light, protein-rich & of course easy to prepare meals like this amaranth porridge.

🌱Amaranth is an ancient grain, naturally rich in protein and easy to digest when cooked properly. And combined with seeds like sesame, pumpkin, sunflower, h**p, and flax, it creates a more balanced plant protein meal.

🌱This bowl provides around 12–15 g of protein, along with:
Healthy fats, Fibre for gut health & Natural sugars for quick recovery

Why this works so well after workout:
• Supports muscle recovery
• Keeps you full without heaviness
• Helps avoid sugar cravings
• Supports Agni (digestion)
• Suitable for spring season

Small changes like choosing warm, nourishing meals instead of cold options can completely change how your body feels after exercise.

🌼Spring is the season when our body naturally wants lighter meals. Heavy winter foods can slow digestion and increase Kapha during this time.

This protein-rich tikki is light, warming, and full of fibre and plant protein to keep you energised without feeling heavy.

Instead of potatoes or refined flour, this recipe uses protein-rich soya chunks and gram flour for binding. Fresh vegetables and spices help stimulate digestion and support Agni.

Protein helps keep you full, supports muscle health, and reduce cravings later in the day.

Fact check
The soybean itself is considered guru (heavy), nourishing, and strengthening.

⚠️Things to know:
Soya chunks are Heavy to digest if eaten in large quantity
Can aggravate Vata if dry or poorly cooked
Can produce gas or bloating if digestion is weak

🌱From an Ayurvedic perspective, how you prepare it makes the difference.
• Boiling the soya chunks → makes them easier to digest
• Adding warming spices like turmeric, cumin, coriander → supports Agni
• Adding garlic and chilli → reduces heaviness and gas formation
• Adding vegetables and greens → improves fibre and lightness
• Using besan instead of refined flour → more digestive friendly
For early spring (Kapha season) this preparation works well.

❄️According to Ayurveda, winter is the season when Agni becomes naturally stronger. So it is essential to eat as per your appetite and according to season and, Your body can digest better, build strength and absorb nutrients effectively.
This keeps your energy steady and your immunity strong in winter.

This toast is one of my favourite winter meals.
🌱Ghee on the sourdough makes the whole meal warm, grounding and easy to digest.
I prefer ghee over butter because it supports the digestive fire instead of blocking it.
It lubricates dryness, keeps Vata balanced in the cold season.

🌱The mashed avocado brings nourishing good fats that keep you full and stabilise your energy.
While adding flaxseed and h**pseed, the whole meal becomes richer in fibre and plant-based omega support, which keeps the gut healthy and reduces dryness from winter weather.

🌱The chutney makes the meal more appetising.
Coriander, ginger and chilli wake up the senses and help the stomach digest the fats and protein.
It adds that refreshing lift and add the taste.

🌱The tempeh is a big part of the meal.
Because it is fermented, it supports gut health, and it gives clean plant protein.
In winter, when the body needs strength and warmth, this combination of protein, healthy fats and grounding grains keeps you nourished.

Food can heal when you know how to combine the right ingredients for the right season.

🌱Adding beetroot, brings its blood-purifying and liver-supporting quality. It helps body to eliminate unwanted toxins.
🌱Methi leaves add a mild bitterness that stimulates digestion and prevents ama from building up.
🌱Green garlic and ginger bring warmth, circulation and support Agni, so the food is broken down properly.
Each ingredient in this bowl is a therapy.

Together this meal becomes grounding for Vata, calming for Pitta and light for Kapha.
It keeps you full, supports blood sugar, nourishes your tissues and still helps your system cleanse gently.
