It's the final countdown...
Hi to all our lovely !
Many of you will know that when I'm not hosting our Wild Sauna at the Lake of Menteith, I'm often found *in* the Lake (or a Loch, or the sea, or anywhere cold and wet really....)
I've packed my thermals, and my cosy STRAVAIG changing robe and my Wildchanger because tomorrow I travel to Oslo before flying to Svalbard (next stop North Pole) early on Sunday morning for my Arctic Ice Swim Challenge.
Rather than committing to a specific distance for my ice swim, I have pledged to swim as long and as far as I can without becoming hypothermic π₯Ά or being eaten by polar bears...π»ββοΈ
Distance is not the challenge for me and even though I rarely wear a wetsuit these days, the International Ice Swimming Association have VERY strict rules - so a completely neoprene-free zone in sub 5 degree glacial water!
For me, doing this without gloves or shoes/ socks and only one thin, silicone swim cap, will be excruciating. π±
Thanks to those who have sponsored me so far, your donation will enable life-changing Stirling-based charity www.srfca.org to continue to provide free counselling for adult survivors of childhood abuse.
If you can spare a few pennies, you can help more people heal from childhood trauma by donating here - thank you!
