Turn The Page Counselling Ltd

Turn The Page Counselling Ltd Therapy for children, Teens, and Adults, face to face and online, 1-1 and groups. We work both inside and outside of schools at times that suit.

Turn the Page is an Independent Counselling Service working with children, young people and their families. We tailor the work for individual schools based on half, full day contracts or on a sessional basis. People seek counselling for many reasons usually at a time when they need some extra support, or someone to listen to them. Counselling can be a great way to express and work through life's c

omplications and stresses within a non-judgemental environment. Counselling has previously been offered to clients experiencing a bereavement, change/ loss, family separation, self-harm, phobias, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and in helping build self-confidence. We are a team of Counsellors trained in Person-centred therapy, drawing on Art/Play therapy, CBT, and Solution-focused strategies. If you would like any further information about the service please get in touch. Thank you,
Joanna & the team at TTP.

✨ Welcome to the TTP Team, Catherine & Dempsey! ✨

We’re so pleased to be welcoming two new members to the Turn the Page Counselling team. 💛💙

🌿 Catherine is joining us as our new Trainee Counsellor, based at the TTP therapy office. Catherine will be developing her experience within our supportive team while working with clients as part of her professional training.

🌿 Dempsey is joining our growing Schools Counselling Team, helping us continue to provide accessible, compassionate therapeutic support to children and young people within their school environments.

As TTP continues to grow, it’s so important to us that we bring in people who share our commitment to creating safe, welcoming and supportive spaces for the children, young people and adults we work with.

Please join us in giving Catherine and Dempsey a very warm TTP welcome! 🥰

💙 Welcome to the team — we’re so happy to have you both with us!

📚✨ September Book of the Month – Being Autistic (and what that actually means) by Niamh Garvey ✨📚

For September, we’re adding another brilliant neuroaffirming book to the TTP little library. 💛

Being Autistic (and what that actually means) is a warm, accessible and positive introduction to autism, written especially with children and young people in mind. It explores what being autistic can mean, while celebrating different ways of thinking, communicating, feeling and experiencing the world.

We love books that help children and young people to understand themselves without feeling that they need to change who they are. This one supports conversations around autistic identity, sensory experiences, communication, emotions, strengths and differences in a way that feels validating and empowering. 🌈🧠

At TTP, our work with neurodivergent children, teenagers and adults is always rooted in acceptance, understanding and connection rather than trying to make someone fit into a neurotypical mould.

We’ll continue adding a new neuroaffirming book each month to build a collection that our clients, parents and families can enjoy. 💛

Have you read this one yet? Let us know what you thought!

✨ MEET ALISON | Therapist, Neurodiversity Lead & Placement Manager ✨

We’re so lucky to have Alison as such an important part of the Turn the Page Counselling team 💛

Alison brings together professional knowledge, lived experience and a real passion for supporting neurodivergent children, teenagers, adults and their families. Her approach is always compassionate, neuro-affirming and strengths-based, helping people feel understood, accepted and supported for exactly who they are. 🌈

Alongside her therapeutic work, Alison is our Neurodiversity Lead and Placement Manager, supporting and mentoring our student therapists as they develop their confidence, knowledge and clinical skills.

Alison also has extensive first-hand knowledge of the EHCP process and specialist provision, having navigated the system and successfully secured a specialist school placement for her own child. As a mum to three neurodivergent children, she brings a combination of professional expertise and lived experience that is invaluable when supporting families.

Alison is also leading our new Understanding Autism groups, helping young people better understand themselves, recognise their strengths and connect with others in a safe, supportive and neuro-affirming space. 🧠💛

And when she isn’t at TTP? You’ll probably find Alison spending time with her two dogs 🐾, heading off to a music festival 🎶 or enjoying a well-deserved spa day! 🧖‍♀️

We’re incredibly proud to have Alison as part of TTP and of everything she brings to our clients, families, students and wider team. 💙💛

✨ SO CHIC: ADULT THERAPY EDITION ✨

Going to therapy as an adult? So chic.
Setting boundaries without over-explaining? So chic.
Learning why you react the way you do? So chic.
Choosing peace over people-pleasing? So chic.
Finally giving yourself the support you’ve spent years giving everyone else? Very chic. 🤍

Adult life can look “fine” on the outside while feeling completely overwhelming underneath.

You might be carrying anxiety, stress, burnout, grief, relationship difficulties, past experiences, low self-esteem, family pressures or simply the feeling that you’ve lost yourself somewhere along the way.

Therapy gives you space to stop, reflect and understand what’s going on beneath the surface.

A space where you don’t have to perform.
Where you don’t have to minimise how you feel.
Where you can talk openly, explore patterns, build healthier boundaries and start making changes that feel right for you.

You do not have to wait until you reach breaking point to ask for support.

At Turn the Page Counselling, our adult therapy is warm, confidential, compassionate and completely individual to you.

✨ Our new & improved therapy rooms are almost ready! ✨

We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to completely refresh our therapy spaces, and we’re so excited to be nearly finished. 💛💙

🌊 The Ocean Room
🌻 The Sunflower Room
🌈 The Rainbow Room
🦋 The Butterfly Room
✨ Plus our newly improved waiting area

Every room has been carefully and purposefully designed to create a space that feels safe, welcoming, comfortable and therapeutic for the people who use it.

As our adult services continue to grow, all of our rooms have been created to feel suitable and welcoming for children, teenagers, adults and couples. We wanted every space to feel flexible and inclusive, rather than being designed for just one age group.

We’ve also installed new soundproof acoustic panelling throughout our therapy spaces, helping to reduce unwanted noise from our livelier groups and more active children’s sessions, while improving privacy between rooms and creating a calmer, more comfortable environment for everyone using the service. 🤍

Whether therapy involves talking, play, creativity, sensory resources, movement or simply having a calm and comfortable space to sit, our rooms allow our therapists to adapt the environment around the individual client.

At Turn the Page Counselling, we believe the environment matters. Therapy isn’t just about what happens in the conversation — it’s about feeling safe enough to connect, explore and be yourself. 💛

It’s one of the many reasons we’re so proud to offer what we believe is one of the best therapy services in Stockport, combining beautiful, purpose-designed spaces with our experienced, compassionate and neuro-affirming team.

We cannot wait to show you the finished rooms! 👀✨
September is almost full for new clients so get in touch now if we can help support you or your family.

✨ Meet Emily – Therapist, School Manager & Operations Lead 💙💛

Behind every great team is someone who keeps everything running smoothly… and for us, that’s Emily.

Emily is a huge part of Turn the Page Counselling, working tirelessly behind the scenes to support our therapists, schools, children, young people and families every single day. From coordinating our growing team to building strong relationships with schools and professionals, she helps ensure every client receives the highest level of care and support.

Alongside her management role, Emily is also a compassionate therapist with extensive experience supporting neurodivergent children, teenagers and families. Her neuro-affirming, strengths-based approach helps children feel understood, valued and accepted for who they are.

As a mum of two, including a neurodivergent child, Emily brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her work. She has a fantastic understanding of the EHCP process and specialist school placements, offering practical guidance and reassurance to families navigating what can often feel like an overwhelming journey.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find Emily planning her next trip to America, enjoying everything Disney, or out walking and running with her beautiful black Labrador. 🐾🏰🇺🇸

We’re incredibly grateful to have Emily as part of the Turn the Page family. Her warmth, kindness and dedication make a real difference every day, and we’re so lucky to have her leading and supporting our team.

💙 Welcome to the spotlight, Emily!

👇 Say hello in the comments and help us give Emily the warm Turn the Page welcome she deserves.
