Cleveland Steel and Steel Mind recognise the difficult situation Middlesbrough is facing right now.

Over the last two weeks, we’ve seen too much heartbreak, violence and young lives lost. We don’t want to stand by and watch another generation become caught up in crime, gangs and violence.

We want to reach out to anyone affected, especially young men who might feel there is no way out. There is another way. Football, friendship, support, positive role models and simply having someone to talk to can make a difference.

If you’re struggling, worried about someone, or looking for a different direction, send Cleveland Steel or Steel Mind a private message today. You can simply write, “I need to talk,” and we’ll get back to you. You can also message us on behalf of a friend or family member.

No judgement, no lectures just people willing to listen, support you and help you find a positive way forward.

Let’s look after our town. Let’s look after each other. ❤️

STEEL MIND — THIS IS FOR YOU.

Middlesbrough. We need more men talking.

Not tomorrow.

Not when things get really bad.

Now.

Steel Mind was created because we know there are loads of men across Middlesbrough who are struggling in silence.

Mental health.

Weight.

Confidence.

Loneliness.

Stress.

Alcohol.

Addiction.

Family problems.

Work.

Money.

Relationships.

Or sometimes… you just don’t know what the hell is wrong, you just know you’re not feeling yourself.

And that’s exactly why Steel Mind exists.

We started with around 20 lads.

We’re now over 60 members strong.

And we’re growing.

Just turn up.

Come and meet a group of lads who understand that sometimes life can be fu***ng hard.

Have a laugh.

Kick a ball.

Throw a few punches.

Go for a walk.

Have a brew.

Talk some s**t.

Talk about life.

And if you need to… offload.

Because sometimes the biggest thing a man needs isn’t someone to fix his problems.

It’s someone to sit beside him and say:

“I get it, mate.”

We’re proud of what Steel Mind is becoming, but we’re nowhere near finished.

There are still men sitting at home feeling isolated.

There are still men struggling with their weight and confidence.

There are still men drinking to deal with things they don’t know how to talk about.

There are still men who haven’t found their people.

Maybe Steel Mind could be your place.

Middlesbrough has plenty of statistics we’re not proud of.

We want to create statistics we are proud of.

More men getting active.

More men making friends.

More men talking.

More men looking after themselves.

More men supporting each other.

And hopefully, more men finding a reason to get out of bed on the days when they really don’t want to.
