🌱 Embracing the Journey as a Freelance Yoga Teacher/ Instructor and Accepting Teaching Opportunities within Early Years Childhood Education 🌱
I recently read about Grit which was popularized by psychologist Angela Duckworth in 2007, who defined it as a combination of passion and perseverance toward long-term goals. Duckworth’s research highlights that grit, rather than talent alone, often plays a critical role in achieving success. For me, her findings resonate deeply, especially as I navigate the challenges of growing my yoga practice and business. Facing financial obstacles and other setbacks has required the very qualities Duckworth identified—determination and resilience. Her work underscores that staying committed to one’s goals despite difficulties is essential for growth, and this perspective continues to drive my journey forward.
Teaching yoga across various studios has given me the gift of connecting with different communities and refining my craft. Freelancing has been a beautiful, yet humbling journey of learning about energy preservation and self-care to ensure I can continue showing up wholeheartedly for my students.
Financial setbacks have opened my eyes to the financial literacy I lacked, leading me to embrace this phase as a growth opportunity. It's taught me to manage resources thoughtfully and take small but purposeful steps toward financial resilience. This has been a transformative time of learning and unlearning, a reminder that every challenge can lead to a new skill or insight.
This journey has also sparked my passion for early years education and the incredible impact of developmental milestones on a child’s growth. Teaching yoga has shown me the rewards of being a mentor and a positive role model, instilling confidence and healthy habits in others. I see these same values in early childhood education, where foundational support and guidance shape lifelong well-being. The importance of these early stages inspires me to pursue a career that combines teaching, research, and holistic development for young minds.
