🌈WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THERAPY

🌈A SENDsational therapy session follows a relaxed, no pressure approach to learning.
Sessions are never rushed, they are always child led and are based around what motivates a little learner the most.
Early learning goals to support communication and development are always worked on using a number of evidenced based interventions.
Regular therapy helps to build a strong bonds between practitioners & children/families. Working together in this way allows for parent coaching and carry over from families outside of sessions.

🌈FREQUENCY OF SESSIONS
Sessions vary & are arranged according to the individual needs of children & families.
This may look like:

Intensive sessions - Twice a week
Weekly Sessions
Monthly Sessions
Online Therapy/Parent Coaching

What I can say is SENDsational therapy sessions are always delivered using a multisensory approach in a fun way, guaranteed to bring smiles & learning to every session!

🌈M A Y ☀️

You were full of sunshine and lots of giggles✨.

With it being a short half term, I had a lovely time catching up with my “school age” little learners again last week.
Always great to catch up with parents in clinic too, school visits are great but you can’t beat regularly checking in with parents, as the saying goes…
“Teamwork makes the dream work” 😉.

We’ve been super busy in sessions this month working hard on our targets. Lots of steady progress from my little learners and some happy, proud parents which always makes me smile. 🥰

It’s been lovely chatting to some new families this month too, I can’t wait to welcome you to clinic soon to join in the SENDsational fun.

🌈Whatever May looked like for you, I hope it was full of life’s little wins.
Now, let’s see what June has in store for us all. ✨

🌈It’s never “too early” to start working on a little one’s learning & development. Research shows early intervention is key when it comes to child development.

When we invest early, not only do we improve developmental outcomes for children with SEND,
we help to strengthen families by empowering parents. We support inclusion within early years settings, helping to lay foundations for learning and development in the future.
So many benefits come from having practical support and intervention from professionals in the Early Years.

🌈Together we can make a difference to all children’s learning. ✨

🚀BLAST - Boosting Language Auditory Skills & Talking.
🚀A speech, language & communication programme written by Speech & Language Therapist, Nikki Joyce.

🚀The BLAST programme is something which I regularly recommend to the settings I work with.
It’s fully inclusive and something all children can get involved with.
The programme has been proven to support the development of children’s speech, language & communication skills.

🚀With just a few adjustments, every activity can be pitched at the right level for every little learner.

🚀This is exactly what inclusive practice should look like.

🚀The programme is designed for three year olds however it can be used with older children who have SEND.
The easy to follow plans are loved by nurseries/schools and the activities are a huge hit with my little learners.

🚀BLAST 2 is also available for older children & focuses on underpinning skills for reading focusing on phonological awareness.

🚀Full details of both programmes can be found on the BLAST website www.blastprogramme.co.uk (🔗link in stories).

🌈SENDsational Discovery Groups🌈

Excited to announce the launch of my early intervention groups for families.
This is something I’ve wanted to offer from the very beginning of SENDsational Learning✨.

🌈Early intervention is key when it comes to child development, this need for early support is even greater for little ones who have SEND & for those showing signs of developmental delay.

🌈Specialist group sessions not only encourage children’s social & emotional development they provide a safe space for parents to come together helping them to build friendships & support networks with other parents who just “get it”.

🌈Alongside structured group activities including circle time & sensory stories to encourage communication and learning there will also be time for 1:1 intervention for each child.
For this reason group numbers will be kept small and places will be limited.

🌈Register your interest today, a warm welcome awaits along with advice and support for you and your little learner.
Together we can make a difference to all children’s learning. ✨

🌈WHAT IS A SEND PRACTITIONER?

A SEND Practitioner is a qualified childcare professional who specialises and holds additional qualifications in special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

🌈A SEND Practitioner supports children’s development across all areas of learning.

🌈For me the job satisfaction comes from spending time with the children & families, finding out what makes little ones “tick” and working out how we can incorporate this into children’s targets to encourage their development.

🌈There’s no better feeling than seeing children achieve their goals and watching the pride on a parent/carers face when they see their child accomplishing something for the first time.

It’s all about teamwork ✨.

🌈A P R I L 🌺
It feels like the month flew by in the blink of an eye.

🌈We celebrated one whole year of SENDsational Learning 🥳🎂, which I can’t quite believe.
I feel like I’m seeing so much progress from my little learners lately, especially those who have been with me from the start.
A year’s worth of getting to know you all and seeing you achieve your goals has been a privilege. ✨

🌈This month I squeezed in lots of CPD time, which felt like a treat to be honest.
Keeping up to date with new interventions for my little learners is always top of my priority list.
Even though I’ve been working with little learners for more than 23 years now, you never stop learning!

🌈Thank you to the team for having me at their drop in, it was lovely to meet you all. I’m always up for a coffee catch up. Email enquiries to
[email protected] 😉😆☕️.

🌈Whatever your April looked like I hope it was full of life’s “little wins”✨.

🌈Now, let’s see what May has in store.

30/04/2026

🌈I love tough tray activities, there’s no right or wrong, no pressure to complete a task, just endless learning opportunities.

🌈Bringing stories to life in this way provides opportunities for children to recall & retell stories in their own way.
Be sure to observe, wait and listen to little learners.
You’ll be amazed at just how much of the story children recall.

You may see them act out parts of the story, hear them recalling lines or using new words/signs.
Some children will prefer to explore stories in this “active” way rather than sitting and looking at a book.

🌈Well, did you guess the book📖 correctly? Let me know. ☺️
