🎶 Parent & Baby Sound Bath - July 21st 🎶

A couple of weeks ago we hosted wonderful Inez of Serenity 💫Sound therapy practitioner for the first Parent & Baby Sound Bath. As a trial we had zero expectations, and the result? A beautiful session of sound healing and relaxation for the mums and babies that attended.

The babies were fascinated by the unique sounds and parents were even able to receive some 1:1 treatment using sound and gentle pressure. We received lovely feedback (see a snippet below) so have booked the next one in for July 21st.

"Thank you so much for a lovely session! The space held was delightful. I felt safe and secure! If my baby was to be difficult I knew that the session would be adapted to their needs. It was lovely to have some mum elements added in as well. I’ll be coming again ✨"

☕️ Cuppa & Cuddles - Monday 15th June 10.30-12.00
We will be welcoming back Clair | Doula, Antenatal Workshops, Trauma Recovery and Georgina - South Somerset Doula this week.

This drop in space is open to expecting and new parents who want company, connection and support. Or even just a space that's baby friendly to sit and have a warm cuppa, without judgement. You're welcome to come for the whole session or pop in for a quick bit of support.

✨️ Weigh you baby - the scales will be set up near the door for anyone who wants to pop in and check babys weight ✨️

Clair of Malama Mama will be back this week. Clair is a contiuum doula providing support and service throughout pregnancy and into parenthood. With a wealth of knowledge and experience, including feeding support, I've invited Clair to join us because she is not only a fabulous lady but the person I refer everyone to for birth trauma recovery. So many parents deal with trauma and bury it, only for it to rear its head when least expected (myself included), but the the 3-Step Rewind practice that Clair offers can be life altering.

The lovely Geogina will also be back to offer support through feeding, baby wearing and understanding of SEN parenting.

Lead by the fabulous trainers at Mini First Aid Somerset, this 2-hour Baby & Child First Aid class covers CPR, Choking, Bumps, Burns, Breaks, Bleeding, Febrile Seizures and Meningitis & Sepsis Awareness and will give everyone who attends the peace of mind they deserve.

Mini First Aid partner with the First Aid Industry Body, Children’s Burns Trust, Meningitis Research Foundation & Sepsis Trust for the latest in medical research updates to support our teaching.

🫧 Absolutely love this photo from our current Bath Babies Spa class 🫧

Babies are now welcome at Bath Babies Spa until they begin crawling. As they get older things get a bit splashier, but the smiles and giggles also grow too!

Bath Babies Spa is a fabulous way to not only bond with your baby but pick up skills and ideas to make bath and massage time special whilst support your their development.

Last week we discussed sensory layers; building an understanding of why baths and swimming can be overstimulating and then how to strip it back and keep it simple. Followed by a gentle leg and foot massage to relax.

This week we explored movement in and around the water, from baby's positioning in the water, to movement of water around them and then blowing some bubbles. (The swim teacher side of me included a bit early aquatic breathing skills, by not using a bubble machine!) We also covered massage strokes for the tummy and face, perfect for part of a bedtime routine.

This is a relaxed and social session for you and your baby, and some fun artistic mess!

With a bit of music, sensory/creative play and the chance to create precious first masterpieces to take away for Father’s Day, this is a lovely opportunity to get messy and creative without having to worry about the mess afterwards!
