Sharing from tiktok but another honest and open chat from me.

You'll be bored of them soon but I think its important to talk about disappointment and expectations from weightloss.

Update if anyone is interested & a different POV of just how bad the loose skin is on my belly. ā¤ļø

I think I’ve finally had to admit defeat.

And honestly, I’m finding that really hard to say.

I always knew deep down that I wasn’t going to get the belly I truly wanted without surgery. I’ve never really believed that losing weight alone would completely fix it.

But I was hoping I could improve it.

I was hoping that by losing more body fat, getting stronger, building muscle and working as hard as I possibly could, I could get the best result I could before surgery.

I wanted to go into surgery having done everything in my power to give myself the best starting point possible.

And I think that’s why this feels like such a defeat.

Because despite everything I’ve done, my belly just isn’t changing the way I hoped it would.

I’ve spent so long thinking, just a little more weight loss… just a little more time… maybe if I get a bit leaner, maybe if I build a bit more muscle.

But I think I’ve reached the point where I have to accept that I’m probably not going to improve it much more through weight loss.

And that really hurts.

Not because I’ve failed. I know I haven’t.

I’ve lost an unbelievable amount of weight. I’ve counted calories. I’ve exercised. I’ve lifted weights. I’ve pushed myself when I didn’t want to. I’ve kept going when it was hard.

I just wanted to see a little more change.

I wanted to feel like all that hard work had made a difference to this particular part of my body too.

So I’m going to enter maintenance phase.

This doesn’t mean I’m giving up. Not at all.

I’m still going to exercise. I’m still going to count my calories. I’m still going to work on getting stronger and improving my body as much as I can.

The difference is that the focus isn’t going to be on making the number on the scales smaller anymore.

I’m convinced I have diastasis recti, and after looking into it and seeing how my stomach looks and feels, so much suddenly makes sense. I also think it may be quite significant, although I haven’t had it formally assessed yet.

It’s also made me look at my pelvic pain differently. I don’t know exactly how much of it is connected, but it has certainly made me wonder whether there’s more going on than I realised.

I know I should probably see my GP, but right now I honestly don’t know if I have the time.

My kids have so much going on that there just isn’t much time left for me. And as much as I know I need to look after myself too, my kids will always come first.

Maybe once my youngest starts nursery next year, I’ll finally have a little more time to focus on me and get everything properly looked at.

For now, the plan is still to keep saving for surgery.

I’m going to change up my weights and routines and focus on strengthening the muscles as much as I can. I want to continue doing everything I can to make myself as strong and healthy as possible before surgery.

And when I finally do get my surgery, they’ll be able to properly assess everything and repair the diastasis recti too.

So I’m not giving up.

I’m just letting go of the hope that I can make this belly significantly better through weight loss alone.

I knew surgery was going to be part of my journey.

I just really, really hoped I could get myself a little closer to where I wanted to be first.

And maybe that’s what I’m grieving most.

Not the fact that I need surgery.

But the fact that, despite everything I’ve done, I couldn’t change this part of my body quite as much as I desperately wanted to.

I still live in hope that I can get my ā€œhipsā€ under 40", but there’s no pressure anymore.

For now, I’m trying to accept that this is where my body is right now.

And even though I feel defeated today, I need to remember just how bloody far I’ve come.

Because I’ve changed my entire life.

Maybe I just need a little help with the final part. ā¤ļø

I’ve been up most of the night thinking about everything, going down Google rabbit holes, and I think I may have finally found a possible answer as to why my belly still sticks out so much.

I never really thought I had diastasis recti, but after 7 pregnancies to term, and more on top of that, it would actually make a lot of sense.

I still don’t know what my plan is going forward, or even if this is definitely the reason. I’m just trying to understand my body and why, after losing so much weight, my belly hasn’t changed in the same way the rest of me has.

I see so many people lose weight and their skin becomes thin, like it has on my arms. But my belly isn't like that, it still feels thick and i was adamant there's alot of fat still in there. Even my sister was telling me off as such this weekend gone and saying its all skin. If I’m honest tough as I like to me, I find it hard sometimes seeing my belly still sticking out like this.

I know I should be proud. I know how far I’ve come. I know what my body has been through. Seven pregnancies, carrying and giving birth to babies, all the changes that come with that… and then losing all this weight.

But if I’m being completely honest, I still struggle with my belly.

I still look at it and wonder, why is it still there? Why does it stick out so much? What am I doing wrong?

And maybe I haven’t been doing anything wrong at all.

Maybe there’s actually a reason for it.

Maybe after all this time I’ve finally found something that explains why my belly hasn’t changed in the same way the rest of my body has.

I don’t know yet. I’m still figuring it all out.

But if anyone has been through something similar, especially after having lots of pregnancies and losing a significant amount of weight, I’d genuinely love to hear your experiences.

Because sometimes it’s just nice to know you’re not the only one. ā¤ļø

Today's food and steps. Small wins are the absolute best, because I fully wanted to eat my feelings this morning.
How i limited myself to one oreo and one milky way when I was full on in a right stress with myself I'll never know, but I did so a win for me!
Over my calories but as I say i don't mind. I'm actually okay with my weight its just this belly arms and mons area I want gone, but gonna take time!

Following in from previous post. This is a small bit of what I mean. Sat down and then stood up. I am so rubbish with words and I don't think anyone will truly get me, not unless been in this situation too! But the mind f..k is so real and I wouldn't be keeping everything honest if I didn't post my down days too!!

Open and honest chat about loose skin i guess. Not everyday is good and today I am struggling with it big time.

No clothing fits me nice unless it's baggy fit. I'm sick of wearing compression to be able to exercise or try smooth stuff out. I just for once in my life want to wear "normal" clothes and not feel like i have to 2nd guess everything.

Genuinely wish I never let myself get as big as I did. I wouldn't then be in this position. Sadly I can't change my past, but I can build my future.

Not everyday is filled with motivation or positivity, today is one of them for me. But this shall pass. Just have to ride out feelings, that BTW are totally valid.
