A Sense of Calm

A Sense of Calm After deciding that the commercial world was not fully for me, I embarked on a learning process in 2017 to go back to what felt more true to me.

My love of people, communication, and finding time for calm even in chaos. Starting with Reiki.

It has been a really busy week, but I was so thrilled to receive an update from a former client, where things have changed for the better. In a world of negative its so lovely to hear a positive outcome.

Counselling is a journey, it is not easy, it is not just a chat. It is about facing who we are, good, bad, and all the bits in-between, and chosing to make a change.

This can make us question who we are, and how our experience has shaped our decision making. In the beginning we can feel deflated, frustrated or confused.

Placing trust in the process can have so many benefits, just remember it's not a race, and there is no set timelines as we are all unique

Watching Olivia Attwood, the price of perfection....... series three ... one and two already watched.

Being bullied for years at school, and workplace in my early career, also working within the beauty industry for a number of years, where you are expected to chase the next trend and your appearance at times is more valuable that your ideas. I understand the knock on effect that this can have on your confidence, your relationship with your self, apperace and identity.

I am also very privileged to have been around women and some men, over the last ten years, who had to have life saving surgery after a cancer diagnosis, and the magnitude of the decisions faced to be or feel "normal". Surgery is not an easy option, and neither are the mental scars it leaves behind.

So. What is the price of perfection??

For me it was not what tweaks did I need. It was about recognising me, and feeling comfortable in my own skin. Looking at me I my 20s, v 40s I can see the the changes in my appearance, but I can feel the changes in my self...

I would love to hear your thoughts...

I saw this today and it made me reflect on the journey that we go through.

Recognising the inner voices that are shouting loudest in our heads can help give us understanding as to what part of us is in the driving seat of our lives.

Is it our inner child, our parents, our adult selves.
Are these judgment our values, or is it those of others?

Understanding this can help give us clarity to move forward, and be more in alignment with our true selves.

There has been a theme this week of, "I should have...."

It seems to have come from the expectations of others, a need to confirm to social expectations.

We are all unique, we work in different levels of needs and understanding, which will be formed by our own individual life experience.

Taking your time to work things out, is ok. Giving yourself time is protecting yourself so you can process and heal.

There is no judgment in my counselling space, I will sit beside you whist you work things out, it may take a couple or weeks, or more, but that's ok.

Don't rush your journey or compare your pace to anyone else's. Rest when you need to, recover with patience, and trust that when the storm passes, you'll fly higher than before.

I have not been able to share this until the press release was made, but I am so proud to share that Tamworth Wellbeing & Cancer Support Centre received a King's Award for Voluntary Service, and as one of the volunteers I was there at the award ceremony on Wednesday evening, in the 30+ degree heat.

It's is amazing recognition for the hard work that goes into supporting individuals in the community.

What an amazing day I have had, at the National Funeral Show.
There has been some beautiful people to connect with, and immersing myself in the experience had gained more awareness of some amazing ways you can celebrate life.
Sharing it with a fellow member of Women Embracing Business has made it even more enjoyable.

I can honestly say, the last few weeks have gone by so fast, I have been utterly humbled working with clients and seeing changes slowing creep in. This is the reason why I do the job I do.

I have also attended a training seminar with and amazing and inspiring lady, Lorna D Sheldon, which has pushed me way beyond my comfort zone. So I am sharing with you a sneak peak of what I have been working on! I

I believe that connection it key to working therapeutically with a person, in both counselling and energy work.

If you can make a positive connection it helps to build good foundations and trust. Once you have that you are then able explore other pieces of the puzzle and feel supported. Counselling should not be an interrogation, communication is a two way street.

What frequency do you need?

I am a big believer in the power of exercise and music on our mental health, and there is nothing I like more than a meditation session at the end of a yoga class. But did you know that the music often used is based in Solfeggio frequencies?

These amazing frequencies also come into play when I am working with reiki and meditation, and can help to connect to the chakras of the body with some positive results.

When playing them in the background they can help to reset the bodies nervous system, promote grounding and relaxation, increase clarity and connection, bring calm.
