Debbie and Dessie are overjoyed with their new gardens!

Our hard-working executive team transformed the outdoor spaces of two ladies we support who have been neighbours since the 90's.

“The colours capture everything about Debbie’s personality, and Dessie’s garden is very Dessie. It’s unbelievable and lovely.” Sue Atkins, Dimensions Locality Manager, has supported the ladies for decades and is overjoyed by the changes.

The project raised money for Dimensions’ campaign, which aims to fund 50 dream projects for people we support, as we celebrate our 50th anniversary this year.

To help us create more dreams please support Small Sparks:

We're saying a fond farewell to Helen Couchman, our dedicated Union Convenor after 26 years.

Helen started as a Locality Manager, really understanding the pressures of support work and creating wonderful team culture.

She led the way to a true partnership with UNISON , developed the National Colleague Forum and has championed the rights and realities of colleagues since 2000. She has been a convenor for 6 years, re-elected twice by colleagues.

But when it comes to making change, Helen leads from the front, sometimes literally! In 2023 Helen marched with Dimensions support workers and people we support to Downing street campaigning for fair pay.

😊 If you've been inspired by Helen's work please let her know in the comments. Thank you Helen!

Another brilliant day for our friends at Outreach 3 Way travel training to grow independence. What lovely photos! 😎

😊 Congratulations to our exec team for 2 garden makeovers for Debbie and Desiree!

🔨 After a weekend of painting, planting, drilling and cups of tea; Rachael, Julia, Ben, Rhoda, Sinead, Helen, Sam and Clive are nursing their sore muscles!

🌷 But they are proud to have created two dream gardens for long-time neighbours Debbie and Desiree, all while raising money for Small Sparks.

Please donate, if you can, so we can give grants to help more people to turn dreams into reality.
