28 players. 40 minutes of device training. One grassroots club taking cardiac screening into its own hands. ❤️⚽️

Radcliffe Olympic FC has completed its first cardiac screening session using our innovative ECG technology.

Just 40 minutes earlier, Marie-Claire Page, the club’s Female Football Development Officer, and Dominic Baker, coach of the U18 girls and U14 boys, completed training with our team on how to use the system.

They’re now trained to administer ECG screening themselves, at their own training ground and around their existing football schedule.

Our technology replaces the complex electrode placement of a standard 12-lead ECG with one pre-positioned electrode patch, making ECG recording quicker, simpler and far more practical within a football environment.

Once the ECG is recorded, it is securely reviewed remotely by our UK consultant cardiologist, with an individual report sent to the player or parent within 7 working days.

Radcliffe Olympic FC is helping to make screening more accessible by bringing the test directly to the club across its boys’, girls’ and senior teams.

We’re delighted to welcome Radcliffe Olympic FC - the first football club in Nottingham to introduce in-house cardiac screening for its players. ❤️⚽️

From age 12 upwards, boys, girls and senior players at the grassroots club can now access ECG screening at their own club.

This initiative has been driven by two key people at the heart of the club:

Dominic Baker, coach of the U18 girls and U14 boys. Having recently stepped down as Youth Section Secretary after three years, following two years as Vice Chair, Dom has played a major role in the club’s development.

Marie-Claire, the club’s Female Football Development Officer, has also completed training with our team and is now able to administer the ECG patch alongside Dom.

Once the ECG test is complete, it is securely reviewed by our remote UK Consultant Cardiologist, with a report sent back to the parent or player (over 18s) within 7 working days.

A huge thank you to Dom, Marie-Claire and everyone at Radcliffe Olympic FC for championing this initiative and taking such a proactive approach to player welfare. 👏

🚨 THE FIRST IN THE UK! 🇬🇧❤️

We’re incredibly proud to announce that York College is the first college in the UK to launch a long-term cardiac screening programme with the innovative QT Medical ECG machine .

Students involved in the College’s Sports Programme, including TASS athletes, will have access to funded a 12-lead ECG to help identify hidden heart conditions that can cause sudden cardiac death.

Each ECG is reviewed by a specialist Consultant Sports Cardiologist and a report is returned back to the parents within a week.

We’ve trained York College’s own Tutor of Sport, Emma Palmer, to operate the ECG and apply the electrode patch - meaning screening can be delivered in-house at the College.

This is a huge step towards making cardiac screening more accessible to young people through the schools, colleges and universities where they study and participate in sport.

We're delighted to welcome Worcester City Women FC as the latest club to partner with CardioLogic to introduce in-house cardiac screening for their players.

Competing in the FA Women's National League Division One Midlands, Worcester City Women are taking a proactive approach to player welfare by making specialist ECG screening more accessible for their squad.

Unlike professional clubs in the Women's Super League, many teams at this level don't receive funded cardiac screening. By partnering with CardioLogic, Worcester City Women can now provide ECG screening delivered by their own staff, at their own training ground, before training sessions.

Following a short training session with our team, the club's physiotherapy staff are able to carry out screenings using our innovative ECG system. Thanks to the pre-positioned electrode patch, there's no need for an ECG technician to place multiple electrodes, making the process quick, consistent and practical within a football environment.

We're also excited to explore opportunities with the University of Worcester Sport, where the club shares facilities, to help make cardiac screening available to even more young athletes in the region.

What is an ECG - and why does it matter? ❤️⚽

An ECG (electrocardiogram) is a simple test that records the electrical activity of the heart. It allows us to look at the heart’s rhythm and electrical patterns, helping identify hidden cardiac conditions that may not cause any symptoms.

In this video, our Medical Director, Professor Aneil Malhotra, Consultant Cardiologist and Sports Cardiologist, explains how ECG screening works.

Through our cardiac screening programme, every 12-lead ECG is reviewed by a specialist cardiologist, with results returned directly to participants or parents within one week.

ECG screening takes around 5 minutes per person and is available for everyone aged 12+.

We’re proud to be supporting York City FC with long-term access to cardiac screening. ❤️⚽

Many serious heart conditions show no symptoms, making regular cardiac screening an important part of helping to identify players who may be at risk before they step onto the pitch.

Using CardioLogic Diagnostics, set up by York City Ladies play Faye Singleton, York City FC can now carry out 12-lead ECG screening on-site with minimal disruption to players.

The portable device uses pre-positioned electrode patches, meaning club staff and physios can be trained quickly to perform high-quality ECG recordings. The equipment makes it easy to screen new players and carry out repeat testing as squads change and athletes progress.

Every ECG is reviewed and reported by Medical Director, Professor Aneil Malhotra, providing expert sports cardiology interpretation and clear follow-up recommendations where needed.

We’re excited to be working with York City FC and look forward to supporting more clubs in making cardiac screening accessible to their players.

Another team screened. ⚽❤️

This time, it was Hamilton Panthers U16 Girls.

Working in partnership with North Riding County Football Association – the first county FA in the country to offer ECG screening to its grassroots clubs using this technology – we're continuing to make cardiac screening more accessible across the region.

ECG screening is available for everyone aged 12+ and takes around 5 minutes per person. Every 12-lead ECG is reviewed by our Medical Director, Professor Aneil Malhotra, with results sent directly to parents (or players aged 18+) within one week.

A huge thank you to Hamilton Panthers and North Riding FA for helping lead the way in making cardiac screening more accessible for young athletes.

We had a conversation with a parent that really highlighted why accessible cardiac screening matters in grassroots sport.

Laura had an undiagnosed heart condition for 30 years, only discovered through an ECG when she was pregnant with her son.

That experience led her to set up ECG testing for her son’s football team, Hamilton Panthers Football Club through North Riding FA.

“It would’ve been completely out of my reach to do that privately.”

This is exactly why bringing cardiac screening into clubs is so important - at around half the cost of private testing, it makes potentially life-saving checks far more accessible directly at the point of need.

North Riding County Football Association are helping lead the way in their region, showing what’s possible when screening is made available at grassroots level.

Five years on from Christian Eriksen's collapse, the message remains as important as ever: early detection of underlying heart conditions can save lives.

Speaking on TalkSport yesterday, our Medical Director Professor Aneil Malhotra, discussed the role of the implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) that protected Eriksen during his second collapse.

The conversation also reinforced a crucial point: many potentially serious heart conditions can exist without symptoms. ECG screening remains a vital tool for the early detection of these conditions, allowing appropriate monitoring, treatment and risk management before a cardiac arrest occurs.

We continue to advocate for wider access to ECG screening programmes, helping to identify hidden heart conditions and protect the health of young people and athletes across the UK.

We've had a busy and inspiring World Heart Rhythm Week! ❤️

Our Medical Director, Professor Aneil Malhotra, delivered an insightful presentation at the British Society of Cardiology, where he delivered a presentation on identifying abnormalities in ECG T waves and distinguishing between benign adaptations and potential cardiomyopathies.

Meanwhile, we attended Liverpool FA's She Inspires event, speaking with teachers and students about the importance of cardiac screening and how schools can get involved in protecting young hearts through screening initiatives.

We're proud to continue raising awareness of heart health and helping organisations deliver in-house cardiac screening programmes supported by our team.
