This week’s class is all about being Boundless.
I recently came across the word pendulation in the context of trauma release and nervous system work. It describes the way we might gently move between what feels difficult, tight or charged and what feels safe, steady and resourced.
Not forcing it
Not collapsing into it
Not thinking it
Just moving toward and away, little by little, giving the body enough safety to let something shift.
And then with a ping of joy and recognition I realised that Kundalini Yoga does this intrinsically;
The rhythm of movement and stillness
The alternation of effort and release
The breath, the mantra and the spaces in between
But Kundalini Yoga is not only nervous-system work. It is alchemical work. It takes the dense material of our human experience — the pain, the heat, fear and frustration, the grief, the bracing, all the old stories — and through ancient yogic technology, transmutes that energy into something numinous. By inviting the infinite into the practice - god, great spirit, all-that-is, heaven and earth unite and pain becomes power. The alchemy of the kriya is the key.
This week we’ll be working gently with anything that feels stuck in the body — pain, frustration, anger, grief, bracing, or old tension that has been carried for too long. I’m inviting you, without overthinking it, to bring something to transmute.
A situation
A sensation
An old wound
A feeling you don’t need to explain
A place in the body that feels tight, stuck or braced
We won’t be analysing it. We’ll be creating movement, breath, sound and space.
