What is the difference between our Bakuchiol Oil Serum and the Colostrum+ Lifting Serum.

The truth is, they do slightly different jobs, which is why I actually use both!

I thought I'd answer a question after a lot of similar comments on my posts a couple of days ago.

"Why does the same perfume smell different on different people?"

There's actually some science behind it!

When you spray a fragrance, it mixes with your skin's natural oils and moisture. Everyone's skin is slightly different, so the fragrance develops differently from person to person.

Factors that can affect how a perfume smells include:
🔹 Your skin type - fragrances often last longer on oilier skin, while dry skin can cause them to fade more quickly.
🔹 Body temperature - warmer skin can make certain notes project more strongly and develop faster.
🔹 Hormones - changes during different stages of life can influence both your skin and how you perceive scent.
🔹 Your skin microbiome - the millions of harmless bacteria that naturally live on your skin can interact with fragrance molecules and subtly alter how they smell.

In fact, your combination of skin oils, moisture levels, temperature and microbiome is so individual that the same perfume can smell noticeably different on two people standing side by side.

That's why I always say that a perfume isn't truly "your scent" until you've worn it on your own skin for a few hours.

It's also one of the reasons I love perfume samples. A tester strip can tell you if you like a fragrance, but only wearing it will show you how it develops on you.

It's often the little things that bring the most joy.

For me, it's not expensive handbags or fancy gadgets.

It's things like -

📖 Starting a brand-new book and getting completely lost in the story.

💙 Finding an Aloe Lips in the pocket of a coat when I thought I'd lost it.

🌊 A sea swim, even when I have to persuade myself to get in.

🚶 A walk in the countryside with fresh air and no particular destination.

🎶 Singing with my choir and forgetting about everything else for a couple of hours.

🌞 Sunshine appearing when it wasn't forecast.

🌸 Putting on a favourite fragrance, even if I'm not going anywhere special.

I think life is made up of lots of small moments rather than one or two big ones.

The older I get, the more I appreciate those everyday little joys.

I've finally had the chance to try Nocturne Reserve properly from a full bottle rather than just a sample, and I can definitely see why it's getting so much attention.

The fragrance opens with notes of cognac, creating a rich and inviting first impression. As it develops, I pick up the warmth of cinnamon, tonka bean and oak, balanced by sweet praline and a touch of vanilla. The result is a beautifully smooth fragrance that feels warm, comforting and a little bit indulgent.

What I love most is how the different notes blend together throughout the day. It's sweet without being sickly, spicy without being sharp, and has a lovely depth that keeps drawing you back in.

For me, this feels like the perfect fragrance for cooler days, evenings out, cosy dinners or simply when you want to wear something that feels a little bit special.

It's definitely one of those scents that has me repeatedly sniffing my wrist to see how it's evolving!

Well, yesterday gave me a little reminder that putting all my eggs in one basket probably isn't the best idea! 🙈

When Facebook decided to have one of its little moments, I realised that if anything ever happened to my page or group, I'd have no easy way of keeping in touch with some of you.

I do already have a WhatsApp group, but if I'm honest, I've neglected it a bit recently. Yesterday reminded me why it's worth having as a back-up.

Not every product earns a permanent place in my home.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who's bought something, used it a couple of times, and then found it lurking at the back of a cupboard months later!

But every now and then, you find a product that quietly becomes part of your routine. You don't have to remind yourself to use it. When it runs out, you notice. And before long, you're ordering another one.

For me, the products that have earned their place are:

💜 Aloe Lips - always in my handbag, coat pocket or beside the bed.

💜 Hand Cream - because sea swimming, walking and everyday life can be tough on hands.

💜 Eye Patches - one of my favourite ways to enjoy 10 minutes of peace with a book.
