Good health is something we take for granted in our youth and any loving parents wish is that their children enjoy a happy and carefree childhood, without worry or pain. Sadly, some children are not so fortunate and can suffer from traumatic life-limiting and in some cases, terminal illnesses. The suffering endured by these children and the stress and strain it brings to families can be unbearable. The Pepper Foundation funds the Children's Hospice at Home service managed by Rennie Grove Hospice Care. This service includes specialist nursing care, respite care, and play specialists. The service cares for babies, children and young people up to the age of 19 living with life-limiting conditions in west Herts and Bucks. The service offers flexible care tailored to each family’s needs to help the children and their families enjoy the best quality of life possible and make every moment together matter. Although there is some limited state funding, the Pepper Foundation is reliant on the public's generosity and support to fund the majority of the costs. The Pepper Foundation and Rennie Grove Hospice Care work in partnership and will continue to respond to the growing need for children's hospice at home care.
